At some point I may end up doing research in Zacatecas. My oldest branch in two of my families are in Saltillo (1600’s) in the case of my last name Garcia and Monclova (1800’s) in the case of Villanueva
My ancestor from 1600’s Saltillo was born presumably from Nieves Zacatecas, and I have a 1777 census from Monclova stating that the only Villanueva family at that time there came from Zacatecas.
I have not been able to link this 1777 family to my 1800’s family.
