Apellidos Luna y de la Cruz
Both were created in Spain must have been since conquistadors had those last names, plusLuna is of some noble background. Especially the spanish family of Los Altos, Alvarez de Luna.

Apellidos Luna y de la Cruz-Daniel
Hi Daniel,
I was told that the name Lobo was a name given to the indians in Mexico and the de la Cruz started out as a sign of the cross in the baptismal books . The priest put a cross meaning that they were of the church .
By any chance , do you have any documents that prove otherwise ?
Thanx,
Welester

SOunds like these are the Santa Cruz family from Aguascalientes, theyeventually married into the meseta. I have several lines of Santa Cruzalso shorted to de la Cruz or Santa Cruz. These guys producedthe Marin de Santa Cruz, and the de Santa Cruz y Orozco families ofLos Altos. There home seat was in Aguascalientes in the mid 1600s.

Hi Daniel,
I don't know if this will be any help but this is in reference to the term "lobo". Lobo was the name given to the offspring of a negro & an indian.
