Hi, I am new here and I am trying to find more information on my ancestry and I am trying to get a sense as to where my ancestors are from since my family has no clue as to where we come from. I have been doing a lot of research for almost 9 months now and have been able to find a lot of interesting stuff that has surprised my whole family however I can not find more information about a specific family. I am stuck on my 2nd-great grandmother's parents and their family. Her name was Maria Patrocinio? or Patrocinia? Dimas born on the 17th of September of 1883 and baptized on the 1st of October 1883. She had a daughter who is my great grandmother named Vicenta Camarena with a man whose name I still don't know besides his last name (Camarena). Maria Patrocinio? or Patrocinia? Dimas moved to the United States and lived in Silver City New Mexico where she re-married to a man named Marcos Acevedo. She was the daughter of Santiago Dimas and Maria De la Rosa. Santiago's parents were Macedonio? or Celedonio? Dimas and Petra Ramirez. Maria De la Rosa (whom which I am more interested in) was the daughter of Juan De la Rosa? or just Rosa? and Victoria De Abila. So far that is all I know. I am more interested in Maria De la Rosa and her parents since I want to find my mothers direct maternal lineage. Thank You to anyone who took the time to read my message and decided to help :)

Dimas / De la Rosa Family????
Hi Linda :) Thank YOU!!! I found the records you listed and that is them. Thank You so much for your help. I actually found more information from the Dimas side of my family through Santiago (my 2nd great grandfather) instead of his wife (Maria Leocadia de la Rosa). I also found his paternal grandparents Victor Dimas and Josefa Rosales along with his maternal grandparents thanks to you (Jose Albino Ramirez and Sotera Mercado.)
Dimas / De la Rosa
there is a child for Albino Ramires and Sotero Mercado, Maria Josefa baptism 9 Oct 1814 in film #439844 but it's a really hard film to follow and I couldn't find it but if you can it should give you another generation.
happy hunting, Linda

Dimas / De la Rosa
Hi Linda once again thank you so much for your help. I checked the website that you listed and it has been very very helpful. I now know more information about my 2nd Great grandmother (Maria Patrocinio Dimas - De la Rosa born on the 17th of September 1883 in Jerez, Zacatecas) and her family. Her parents were (Santiago Dimas - Ramirez born abt. 1844) and (Maria Leocadia De la Rosa - De Avila born abt. 1847 in Jerez, Zacatecas). Since I focused more on just my mother's maternal lineage I found that Maria Leocadia's mother was Maria Victoria De Avila - Gonzalez born on 03 March 1821 in Jerez, Zacatecas. Maria Victoria's parents were Marcial de Avila and Maxima Gonzalez born abt. 1785 and they were both from Jerez, Zacatecas. That is as far as T've gotten, since I could not keep going through just my mom's maternal line since I found the baptism record for Maria Victoria De Avila - Gonzalez (baptized on 11 March 1821 in Jerez) and under her maternal grandparents (Maxima Gonzalez's parents) it says "Abuela no dio razon" and only lists her maternal grandfather as Manuel Gonzalez. I also noticed that they were all from Cienega, Jerez, Zacatecas as far as I have reached with Maxima Gonzalez (1785) my maternal ancestors were there for a very long time since 1785 or maybe longer once I keep finding more people.
Dimas / De la Rosa
good morning. I'm really glad my files were able to help you in your search. I'm still trying to figure out who in your family married someone in mine. I only put people in my files that are associated through marriage with mine. I do have lots of family from Cienega and will let you know when I figure it out. My base person is my Dad Chet (Aniceto) Castanon, if you put that in pedigree in text form it will show my lineage from Zacatecas.
Can you share with me the date of Maria Patrocinio Dimas baptism? I can't find her and would like to add her to the records. What do you have that shows that your Victoria is the same one as the daughter of Marcial and Maxima?
Thank you for taking the time to let me know it helped you, that's why I post them on Rootsweb instead of Ancestry. They are connected but Ancestry charges and Rootsweb does not..

Dimas / De la Rosa Family????
So where was Maria de la Rosa born? do you have the online record? If so
supply the url. I saw some children born to a Juan and Victoria in Jerez
around the 1850's but without a location it is difficult to narrow down the
search. Location is one of your best clues in genealogy.

Dimas / De la Rosa Family????
Hi :) thank you so much for your help and unfortunately no I do not know where Maria de la Rosa was born I only know the information on the post. And actually I only have the record for Refugia Dimas Rosa. I do know that Patrocinia Dimas Rosa was born in Jerez, Zacatecas but that is the only think I forgot to mention on my post. I also just looked for those records you found and yes those are her daughters and I believe then that her name was Maria Leocadia Rosa - Avila since on Patrocinia's baptism record it shows Santiago Dimas and Maria Rosa as her parents and lists the same grandparents shown on Petra Dimas - Rosa's baptism record.
