The book is now available for purchase. On the website of the printer, there is a preview available. I will make a more extensive preview, including the name index available on this site over the weekend.

Somos Primos preview of my book
Mimi Lozano at Somos Primos has published part of a chapter of my book. The November issue just came out. There is also a review of a new book on Vicente Guerrero which looks really interesting. The whole black population in Mexico issue is one that I deal with in my book.

Somos Primos preview of my book
Today, I received a copy of Arturo's book which I ordered. How exciting to read a bit of history that all of our ancestors were also a part of...
Emilie..I did not refer to a dictionary...yet, with my Spanish, I would never make the diplomatic corps.
Arturo, I read with such interest, your family tree, very impressive. I am sure it was all a labor of love. Again, congratulations!!!
Psst....are you among the children in the photo on the back cover?

Arturo, CONGRATULATIONS !!!!
I just placed an order. Looking forward to reading your book.
Would it be politically correct to crash one of your family reunions? After all, we are distant cousins.
Saludos, Helyn

I live in Los Angeles, Ca is there a book store near me that would
distribute the book? If not I could wait and order it online..Thanks
Leticia
My book is in Spanish and available only online
When I began the project I debated whether I should write it in English or in Spanish. I made up my mind when I started doing research and realized that all of the ethnographic work that had been done in the region had been done in English and therefore was inaccessible to the local population. Also, some of the older members of my family do not read English and I felt like it would be a worthwhile challange to write something in Spanish. (I have never had any education in Spanish other than my mothers and sisters teaching me to read and write in Spanish at home). For English-only members, I hope that you will try to struggle through it nevertheless.
The book is currently only available online at the website I mentioned in my earlier message. George Farias will also be distributing for me but at a higher price than that direct from the printer. Depending on the interest I get, I may later buy a distribution contract so that it is available through other bookstores.
Thank you everyone for your feedback and thank you to all of the members of Nuestros Ranchos that made the book possible, particularly my cousins who helped me get started and shared information with me.

Sorry, Esperanza,
You and I will have to struggle to read it in Spanish. We will have to keep our english-spanish dictionaries handy.
