A friend of mine sent me this link to an article that appeared in the LA Times. It's about the resources that the US goverment provides for genealogy research. I have not used this service yet but I thought it might be helpful to others. Although our concentration is for a specific area of Mexico, I think this service could provide us with invaluable information as many of our ancestors emigrated to the US.

Greetings Group,
Just yesterday I was thrilled to find some ancestors on the NR site under GEDCOM, Zacatecas, Zac. marriages dating 02/21/1607. Did I miss a film number? For my record, do I indicate NR website, etc. for documentation? Thanks so much for help. Alice

Thanks KANAKALELE (sorry, don't know your name) for this information......I didn't know this existed. There's an uncle who disappeared after coming to the US in the late forties, early fifties and nobody's heard of him since.
Alicia,
San Jose, Calif
