I too feel like the Lone Ranger up here in the Northwest.  I am the
only Mexican member of the Puget Sound Genealogical Society.  The other
members are mostly Scandinavian. Estoy tan solita tambien.  I do enjoy
hearing about their breakthoughs and successes, and I use their
library.  They take an annual trip to Mecca in Salt Lake City in
January (they have the whole place to themselves, almost, and don't have to wait
for computers or copiers, etc. then).  They have published some of my
articles in their Backtracker quarterly at www.rootsweb.com/~wapgsdgs/homepage.htm  about my
mother's New Mexico ancestors; I've written about them because I knew more about
them than of my father's Zacatecan ancestors.

Since I live in Fairfax County, Virginia, I
belong to the Fairfax
Genealogical Society - a very active group.
(However, I think I am
the only member who researches in Mexico - ay, tan
solita). Their

Next year, 2007, the state of Virginia will
celebrate in 500th
anniversary of settlement (Jamestown, 1607). NGS

Genealogical Society) will hold its Conference in the States,
May 16-
