Is there a resource for early marriage records from Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes. There appears to be no filmed marriage records prior to 1663.
I am looking for the marriage of Felipe Diaz de Santiago with Isabel de Turises which should have occured sometime between 1630 and 1640.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Early Aguascalientes Marriages
Arturo,
I, too, have extracted baptismal, marriage and burial entries of
"espanoles" for 0299421 (and other films in early AGuas.), and can't
find the entry you're looking for. I've reconstructed many families and
tried to cross-reference Diaz, Santiago, Turises, etc., but can't seem
to find them.
I, too, have found ancestors whose families were based in the town of
Aguas., but who moved out into Lagos de Moreno or Teocaltiche, in Jalisco.
Will search around a bit more. Good luck.
Connie

Early Aguascalientes Marriages
Connie, Bill:
Thank you for your diligence and help. I will have to keep looking somewhere else. The reason why I am so interested in this marriage document is because it should list the parents of Felipe Diaz de Santiago, who after becoming a windower of Isabel de Turises, moved to Tlaltenango and married Cecilia Lopez, a widow of Hernado de Haro, who is an Eve of sorts in the region, bearing twelve children between her two husbands.
Thus Felipe Diaz de Santiago (and his ancestors) are ancestors of a great number of people in the Tlaltenango region.
Early Aguascalientes Marriages
Arturo,
I saw the children of this Felipe and Cecilia in Tlaltenango when I
searched yesterday, but could find nothing else. The only early Turises
I found were in the DF, but nothing leading to Isabel. Sorry couldn't be
of more assistance.

Isabel de Turises
The marriage document of Cecilia Lopez and Felipe Diaz de Santiago states that he is a vecino of Aguascalientes, so I suppose he could be originario of somewhere other than Aguascalients and that he and Isabel de Turises were actually married somewhere else, DF?
Early Aguascalientes Marriages
Arturo,
Most early records of Aguascalientes are found in LDS Film 299421 which includes Marriages 1601-1662 and 1667-1670, as well as Baptisms 1616-1660. The original records are in separate books but were included in the same film for one reason or another. I extracted baptismal and marriage data for individuals listed as "españoles" but did not find a Felipe Diaz de Santiago married to Isabel de Turises for 1630-1640. As I recall, some pages from 1629-1633 were not microfilmed and may be lost. I have the film on permanent loan and can check the exact missing dates if you wish.
Saludos,
Bill Figueroa
Early Aguascalientes Marriages
Based on my reasearch I found a lot of early Aguas people in Los Altos and other parts of Jalisco especially in Lagos or Guadalajara. -Daniel Mendez del Camino> To: research@lists.nuestrosranchos.org> From: arturo.ramos2@gmail.com> Date: Mon, 24 Sep 2007 06:41:26 -0700> Subject: [Nuestros Ranchos] Early Aguascalientes Marriages> > > Is there a resource for early marriage records from Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes.
