Back in the Colonial era of Mexico there were a number of artists/painters that traveled through Mexico and drew paintings. Here is a link:

I found many of them and here is a list. If you do a google image search and type the name of the artist along with word Mexico, you will see a number of old paintings. I am hoping to find old paintings of Huejuquilla, Valparaiso of the number of Haciendas in our area.

The topic of your post, traveling artists of Mexico, sounds very interesting and I'll have to look into it. You may want to edit your original post, though, to prevent others from possible malware damage and problems with their computers and files due to malware on that site.
Thanks,

I am sorry about the link if it has done that. It is normal on my computer. I don't know how to edit to erase that link. But I am surprised how many painting there are from those days.

For example, I took one of the names of the artists "Eugenio Landesio" and look in images "Eugenio Landesio Mexico" and a number of colonial paintings came up. Even old paintings of Haciendas! I am hoping to find old paintings of Haciendas of Zacatecas.
Here is a painting of one of the popular painters of Mexico "Jose Maria Velasco Gomez (1840 - 1912). What catches me on this one is that he is about the same generation as my great grandfather and I also wonder if he looks like my great grandfather as how my great grandfather was described to me by one of the elders of Huejuquilla.
