For those who enjoy old family pictures, I have uploaded some to an album called Robles/Martinez fam. of Aguascalientes which is located under the Members' and meetings album on the website.

Those are very interesting pictures John and Joseph. Joseph, there is a caption on one of your group pictures. What does it say? What was the event and history of it? This seems to be an important historical photo of a Mexican community.

well don't really know, some kind of festival related to the Mexican
Consulate of Los Angeles but it took place in the Limonera Ranch in Dec
1923.
if you really want to know ask the Santa Paula historical society. I
sent them a copy of the picture but never heard much back from them.
as far as I know I don't have any Robles or Martinez in my family, but i
think it would be sooo cool just to know that my family and John's
family might have been good friends or at least known each other.

ps: I wish my Aunt Julia was alive as she was the one that I could have
asked.

I agree, it would be cool to know that the families knew each other. Both being in ranch work they probably did. My dad and my grandfather worked at Limoneira for a time, as well as the Pressey ranch, and many other ranches and orchards in this area.
By the way Joseph, you now have an 'in' with the SP historical society. My partner's mom is their archivist now and she currently has a bunch of old pic at her home that she is scanning and digitizing. I have been able to look at lotsa cool old time Santa Paula pics.
