I came across this link that lists the first Spanish women to come to Mexico (Nueva España) during the first quarter of the XVI century. It was written by Juan Francisco Maura, Associate Professor in Spanish at the University of Vermont.

I wasn't able to add it to the links section.

Thank you for bringing Las Primeras Mujeres to my attention.
I read through every entry trying to find my ancestor, Maria Rangel crossed over from Spain with her husband Diego Romo de Vivar in the first half of the 1600s, but I didn't find them in this resource.
Brentwood
Hi Maria:
I am just wondering how somebody came up with Brentwood as the location for
the NorCal meeting in July. What a great idea! My wife has relatives in
Antioch and I have one brother in Stockton and one near Lodi. It looks like
if I decide to go, I can kill two birds with one stone, meet my "Primas
Norteñas" and visit my family.

John,
Maybe this is a signal that you must come meet with the Northern California Primos y Primas. Anyone else in the north, south or east interested? We put on a pretty good production, or shall I say they put on a good production. Maria and the Sacramento group are very well organized and I have to say I enjoy the workshop format.

I'm East and I'm interested. I want to come, but only if you have Menudo
(just kidding, but i do love Menudo). . .well maybe next time. Let's
move the next one to say Kansas or Chicago or Texas and I'll spring for
the plane fare there.
I hope you guys take some of the Workshop Teaching and share it with the
whole group. If it is in lecture form I can podcast it either for the
ears of Nuestros Ranchos only or for the world to benefit. What do you
all think? Does anyone attending have a digital recorder?
