CATALOGO DE PASAJEROS A INDIAS

Hello Mickey,

I was wondering if the information contained in your books is much different from what you can find in the "Catálogo de Pasajeros a Indias" on the Spanish site "Archivos Españoles en Red" (www.aer.es)?

PAF Question

Kitty,

What type of ancestral file are you wanting to print? I don't quite
understand, what you were asking.

CATALOGO DE PASAJEROS A INDIAS

go Mickey go,

cool dude!

now all I have to do is find my genealogy back to that time period and
I'll be knocking on your electronic door. thanks much for this kind
offer. If you happen to be looking around and just happen to see any
Puente or Puentes well just the reference will be cool. I've often
thought about the possibility of going back to the Puente/Puentes that
I can find and tracing them forward and hoping they were the ones that
migrated to Zacatecas and or North Jalisco. That kind of genealogy
would be way harder I believe but something to think about.

thanks again for your willingness to help and contribute to the
betterment of the members of the group,

joseph

ps: how much did they cost?

Indice Geobiografico de Cuarenta Mil Pobladores Españoles de American en el Siglo XVI, Tomo l - 1493 - 1519

Same as above, Tomo II   1520 - 1539

Catalogo de Pasajeros A Indias, Siglos XVI, XVII, y XVIII

       Vol IV - 1560 1566

       Vol V - 1567 - 1574

       Vol V - Tomo II 1575 - 1577

       Vol VI - 1578 - 1585

       Vol VII - 1586 - 1599

I thought the Culteral in Madrid was going to publish Vol. VIII but I have never heard of any being published.

I also have :  Indice Geo. de mas de 56 Mil Pobladores de la American Hispanica, Tomo I, 1493 - 1519  by Peter Boyd Bowman (note this is not cuarenta but 56) .  This is a Xerox copy, the rest are the originals.

Joseph, I was heartened to read your reply, which did bring tears to my eyes. I have printed the copy which is now taped on wall next to my computer.

The following story would not have been realized without you.

I had been following the paper trail of a Jose Maria Herrera for a number of years, only to realize that there were about 5 Jose Maria Herrera's in the same time frame.

When I read the submission from "Esperanza" from the group I realized that this was her line. So, I mailed her all the info I had, about 2 inches thick. Now we are fairly certain that we may have a common ancestor. In time I hope to pursue this further. Also, I have quite the stack on "Luna" that I know is  Esperanza's line that I need to put in PAFto send her. Do believe we have a connection on the Luna's as well.

Most importantly, I have now befriended a jewel of a woman, and an accomplished one at that. At the moment I am lost for words, can not think with tears in my eyes...So I shall plagiarize

Joseph,  we input the code 'doc'
right after the date in our PAF program and that comes out on our
printed pedigree and family group sheets.  Now when we print the family
group sheet for Joseph Francisco Ricardo MOTA and Mathiana Sesaria de
ROBALCABA we see Maria Josefa MOTA 10 Jan 1778 doc,  Maria Agustina
MOTA Rovalcava 3 Sep 1780 igi,  and Francisco Ramon MOTA Robalcava 10
Mar 1775 igi.  When we sent you our files, I forgot to check off notes
and sources so hence no documentation on those records.  And I was
surprised that the 'doc and igi' didn't come out in the date line.
After our upcoming trip to SLC we will gradually update the files
again.  We won't do them all at once again.  Is there anyway of
downloading an ancestral file thru PAF which would connect the
generations and list the children?  Then one ancestral file would work
instead of 37 dependency files.

Thanks for the following information.  We don't have
any documents for siblings for Josefa Mota yet.  We do have 3 different
Josefa Mota on the pedigree chart and hopefully your information will combine at
least two of them.  We have the bapt document of Josefa MOTA 10 Jan 1778
doc.  and had on our list for this April's trip to find Maria Agustina 3
Sep 1780 igi, and Francisco Ramon 10 Mar 1775 igi.
Could Joseph Francisco Ricardo MOTA  brother Joseph
Marcelino MOTA be the same Marcelino Joseph MOTA Campos 14 Jun 1750

MOTA  5 Nov 1777 igi.  We are looking and printing that document this
coming trip.

Your Carlos de Godoy and Gertrudis Raygosa are off in
another binder since we had to chop that branch off our family tree.  We
keep going back into the binder and pulling documents we made with other
connections.  About two years ago we found we had 2 Merced Serrano's and of
course we were off and going with the

I am almost brought to tears when I hear about you all making
connections. . .I just let my imagination go and think about how
hundreds of years ago [well in most cases one hundred and in some 2 or
3 hundred] our families were living their lives and knowing and
interacting with one another in the homeland. Then something happened,
maybe war, maybe economic circumstances and one or both families moved
away and the branches lost contact and never heard from each other
again until, until, until, Kitty and Rich Cortez one day [more like
many years of intense research] made a trip to SLC and did very time
consuming and intense genealogical research. Research that gave great
respect to our ancestors. Respect that basically said that they are of
great importance to us and that the product and essence of their lives:
"La Familia" was important enough to attempt in a small way to
reassemble and slightly realign, reform, piece together the fractures
that now divide us. And then Helyn

Marge,  No it isn't a virus.  They are our
files, that we finally updated.  In the future we will only update a
couple at a time.  My previous file was over 2 years old and since then
we have found whole new lines.
I appreciate your concern.
