I'm only speculating as to the meaning of "mouth wash" but I know that
the DNA sample is taken by using a mouth wash.

I'm pretty sure you just take this mouth wash and swish it around in
your mouth rather vigorously and then spit the mix back into the
container which now has your DNA in it.

another style of the test is:

You have a little stick with these plastic teeth (it looks real
harmless) and you scratch your cheek and insert the scrapper end into a
test tube and send it back to the lab.
