Yes, Joseph,

I think it is a good idea for people to check the files, gedcoms, etc on the website; why not take advantage of all the information to be found there? Maybe you could also from time to time remind people of what is on the website besides the e-mails. Could you post an index or something like that once in a while? Another group I belong to sends out a "we haven't heard from you in a while" type message.

With most of the groups (not necessarily genealogical) that I participate in, you MUST log-in to the website in order to access mail, postings, chat, etc. So, frankly, I was surprized to see this site the way it is.

I don't see a problem with doing what you are suggesting. Unfortunately I don't have the time I'd like to have to participate more in the matters/discussions of our group, but I do go into the web site often to view subjects, files, etc.
