On the "lighter" side:
Thanks to my primos here at NuestrosRanchos who helped me confirm my DE LEON family tree I was able to find a couple of "fun-facts".
1. Even though my parents were double-related as cousins., I was able to connect them (triple-cousins) to Martin de Enriqyes ( b. abt. 1675). My father Elias de Leon (1904-1999) is his direct 8th descendant (12 generations) and my mother Maria Carlos (1909-1992) is his 9th direct descendant (13 generations). Double Whammy! Am I my mother's equal cousin ????
2. My earliest direct ancestor is Manuel de Leon and his wife Josepha de Escovedo (both born abt. 1680 ). They had several children but two of their sons' children married each other. Since both of my GGGGGGPs (who were married to each other) were DE LEON "primo-hermanos" and direct grandchildren of Manuel and Josepha who were my "double" GGGGGGGPs, am I a "double" DE LEON ???? Ha Ha!

That is amazing that you have been able to get that far back in your direct paternal lineage that quickly. I got stuck on that line in the 1750s, but have followed many others further back, including a couple that lead me back to Manuel de Leon and Josepha de Escobedo... which makes you my cousin... I suppose several times over.
I don't know if you have seen what I have on this family, but I can take you back at least one more generation to Manuel's parents who were Francisco de la Cruz and Catalina de Garibai. Manuel and Josepha were married in 1692 in Tlaltenango.

Josepha is, I believe, the granddaughter of Francisco de Escobedo, founder of Hacienda de San Andres Astillero later known as Monte Escobedo. She was the daughter of a Captain Juan de Escobedo who appears in other historical documents as the son of Francisco... only confusion is that there may have been two Juan Escobedos so she may be the great-granddaughter.

website for it and have somehow missed it. I'm interested in the
Escobedos, who intermarried with Saldivars and Denas in the late 1700s
and early 1800s in Jerez. Marge:)

Ok, now this is getting interesting , my gggrandmother was Quirina Saldivar Gomez married to Candelario Alvarado in Villa de Santiago , N.L. 1844 her father was Juan Jose Saldivar Rodrigues de Montemayor y Ayala and his father was Jose Gregorio Saldivar Rodriquez de Montemayor .

I'm been working on this for the last 10 years and if it hadn't been for NuestrosRanchos and all of my primos here, I wouldn't have gotten this far. After viewing several mirco-film these last few months (and confirming my suspicions) and with Joseph Puentes, Rosalinda Ruiz, Erlinda Castenon, you, and all the others I'd still be stuck. Of course, being 100 % retired now, I can devote 10 hours a day to that activity.
