Locating information about Guadalajara family
My grandmother and uncle both resided in Guadalajara and visited us before my father's death when I was a child. After his death, I received some correspondence from my uncle, but lost contact about 1988. While my grandmother would no longer be living, there is a slight chance that my Uncle Armando is still alive. I have sent letters to his last known address over the years, but I think the city is laid out differently now. If anyone has ideas about locating information regarding him or his death, or the death of my grandmother, I would greatly appreciate it.

Locating information about Guadalajara family
The way I have found living "Puentes" family in Guadalajara is by getting
either a good international telephone calling plan or a long distance
calling card and with a current listing of the "Becerra's" from a
Guadalajara phone book just go down the line explaining in Spanish about my
grandmother and uncle (giving details) and asking if the person happens to
know anyone with those names/history.
My project about 10 years ago took me several weeks as there were a lot of
"Puentes" in Guadalajara but I did find some that were related.
The hardest part might be finding some way of getting a current Guadalajara
phone book. Maybe you can get someone to SCAN those particular pages for
you.

Locating information about Guadalajara family
Joseph,
I was also told that the way to get people interested in helping find lost relatives is to contact the local radio station and they will have one of their moderators put the message on air. Of course, this might be more successful in a smaller community like Jerez in Zacatecas (Guadalajara is many times larger). In Guadalajara, many people have smart phones and there must be websites and chat rooms that can help. I found those in Jerez and elsewhere helpful even many years ago.

Re: Locating information about Guadalajara
Yes, I have tried looking for digital phone books for Guadalajara, but haven't had any luck. I even have the last known number, but it's so outdated that it only has 6 digits. Ideas for locating phone book listings would be helpful.
Of course, if he's still living he'd be about 80, and may no longer be living on his own. As far as I know, he did not marry or have children. He and my grandmother seemed to have resided in the same home for well over 20 years, so I had thought that the parish near his last known address might know of them, but it's been difficult to determine the neighborhood and parish.
If anyone is familiar with Guadalajara, perhaps they'd have a better understanding of where they were living based on the old address I have.

Locating information about Guadalajara
You can do a white pages search online at www.telmex.com but you will need
to access with a valid Telmex account. I used to have Guadalajara phone
books but they stopped leaving them here in town many years ago. I can look
for you online but it only gives 25 search results, maybe we can get lucky
