Santo Toribio's maternal relatives

Never mind, Steven.  I see how they both lead to
Santo Toribio's parents.  I have the first couple in my database, and many
of their descendants, but not the parents.

Okay on the second couple, I have their parents and the
ancestors of the parents, but I know that you know the family tree

this sounds good to me if the membership would like to go in this
direction. Maybe it will be different this time but in times past I
have had trouble getting folks to vote and a move of this nature would
need a bare minimum 51% vote in favor of such actions.

We would need to either get small donations to cover a cost of about
$150 a year for hosting

we currently have 93 members of which I'd say that 85 would be left
after all said and done. So lets say 75 were willing to do this then
that would be $2 per member am I right?

No I wouldn't be in favor of another bulletin board. Its either this one
or another one. I would not be opposed to handing the reigns of this
group over to others. This group is not about me but us. As long as the
group stays intact it makes no difference to me if its at Yahoo or some
other site or if I'm the moderator or an active member.

I don't have the time or knowledge to know or learn how to seamlessly
make the transition. If there is enough feedback from the group we can
do a poll of the membership to see how many would be in favor of
pursuing such a plan.

The bulletin board would be in lieu of this one. If we wanted ad
revenue at least, we would have to get a fair amount of traffic on
the board and I don't think that the database alone would generate
that.

Plus most bulletin board software allows more flexibility as far as
what sort of notifications you get (i.e. limited to certain topics)
and to view messages on the same basis, to show only unread messages,
etc.

I don't think we would need another bulletin board...that is...if
there was another bulletin board I wouldn't be able to keep up with

I volunteer to set up the site with the interactive family tree
software I have on my site currently and to include a bulletin board
system that we can use similar to this list.

We would need to either get small donations to cover a cost of about
$150 a year for hosting or try to make that money back through
advertising on the site... We can get Google ads on the site and as
long as people click through on the ads enough, we will probably be
able to make back the cost (depending on how many users there are and
how often people go on the site).

My cost estimate is for a hosting package that would give us 3GB of
storage. People could upload files in addition to their GEDCOMs.
All of the family information would be searchable by name, place,
etc. and could be searchable on a tree-specific basis or the entire
database could be searched at once. Of course these functions would
only be available for registered members. How many are there?

Special request for data from Jalostotitlan

Hi Steven,
I believe that I might have some info regarding
the second couple.  As you probably predicted, I have also been researching
Santo Toribio, Santa Ana, and wondered whether or when I would find a link being
that my Romos, and Gonzales (both of Santo Toribio's surnames) came from Santa
Ana?
Can I get more information regarding
Atanacio Munoz & Vicenta Ramirez.  I have many Munoz, Perez &
Franco.  Of those highlighted, who are their offspring?  Do you have
this information?  How do they link to Santo Toribio?
Irma

Hello Ranchos,

I am currently researching the ancestry of one of many alteño saints, Santo
Toribio Romo, who was born on 16 April 1900, in Santa Ana, Jalostotitlan.
His parents were Patricio Romo and Juana Gonzalez, who were married in Jalos on
3 June 1885.
