These forum posts are from the old “Ranchos Archives” which was part of a Yahoo Groups system that operated between 2003-2006. This was a hybrid of electronic mailing lists and internet message boards. The files are “Read Only” and many of the users of the Yahoo Groups are not part of the new NuestrosRanchos membership, so keep this in mind when viewing these message posts and replies.

No. I like what we're doing. Sorry you're feeling overwhelmed, dear Joseph. Marge:)

For that matter why not just everyone move over to Jonathan's group? its

There you'd be able to discuss all of Mexico without restriction.

I agree that we should not expand. If anyone needs something more than this group they have options.  (1)leave the group, (2) Start their own group, (3) Join Jonathan's Group. There are probably many other options not mentioned here but for now my vote is to stay as is.

I grow weary.

I can't go any more than how I'm going.

there is nothing special about here. Awhile ago about 15 months or so we
opened up and took in Aguascalientes. I'm all in favor of taking in all
of historical Nueva Galicia. But I just don't have the energy to do it.

Joseph,

I have always been a little puzzled as to why San Luis
Potosi is not part of Ranchos. Seems to me it should since
part of San Luis Potosi at one time used to part of the
region of Zacatecas. One of my greatgrandfathers was born

in SLP when part of it belonged to the region of Zacatecas.
By the way, he called himself Zacatecano. The Zavalas have

always been from Zacatecas.

It seems to me that we need a good history lesson as to
where the boundaries were for the 1800s and before, where
most of us are going with our genealogy. The boundaries for
the reinos changed according to the person reporting the
information.

I think we need to define the Ranchos area of coverage to
cover the actual physical boundaries of where Jalisco,
Zacateacas and Aguascalientes really were according to the

I believe it would even include Durango and Chihuahua.

And speaking of Michoacán....  If we were to speak about the old
territories of "Nueva Galicia", then we'd have to include Michoacán
all the way to Sonora (and maybe further north), including Jalisco,
Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Colima and Sinaloa.
