Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to this forum and would like to know if there is anyone out there who is researching in the same area as I am? I live in Salt Lake City and go to the Family History Library once a week. I am very willing to help anyone out who needs it. I am hoping that there is someone who is familiar with this area of Jalisco and could give me a few pointers or useful historical info. Thanks.

I am in the Library every day, (some Saturdays no Sundays, library is
closed) ask for me at the research counter and (someone will find me) and

researching in Ojuelos, Jalisco
The ancestor I was able to trace back to Ojuelos, Jalisco is named Antonio Luevano born about 1853. I have been able to locate his marriage record to Francisca Medina Gonzales in Aguascalientes in 1881. The marriage info. from the parish indicates that he is from the Hacienda Troje in Ojuelos, Jalisco and that his parish there would have been Cienega de Mata. Parents names are: Buenaventura Luevano (father) and Fiburicia Garcia (mother). That is all I know about him. Thanks for the help :).

get confused by people when they are extracting information. So, I think the
mothers name was Tiburcia, (it just feels right Fiburcia does not). Here is

exhaustive search. Good luck and see you on Monday!

Researching in Ojuelos, Jalisco
Elisa,
A large portion of my ancestors originated in Ojuelos-Cienega de Mata. The Hacienda Cienega de Mata, one of the largest haciendas in Mexico, was owned by the Rincon Gallardo family, and consisted of multiple localities such as Duraznillo, Gachupines, Puerto de Letras, Chinampas, and many others. I was checking my records and found that Nicomenides Santoyo, son of Joseph Santoyo and Maria Rafaela Aranda, married Maria Octaviana Luebano, daughter of Alejandro Luebano and Angela Udave, on March 5 1832 in Cienega de Mata, Jalisco. It would be interesting to establish the conection of your ancestors Buenaventura and Antonio Luevano (Luebano) with my family.
