Hello, Everyone and Fellow Martin Del Campo researchers:
I have begun reading the archival messages (2003, so far) and wanted to add
to my introduction, now that I have a better idea of the Martin Del Campo
research being done by other members. The earliest I have goes back to the
early 1800's in Jalisco. This is from my grandmother, Magdalena Martin Del
Campo, so I have yet to research this information from her to verify it.
She is now deceased. What she provided is the following: (I would be very
interested to know if any other members are related or have additional info
that dates further back than what I have. I am still trying to catch up to
what all has already been discussed and have not yet read any of the family
histories others have contributed on their Martin Del Campo ancestries.)
TOMAS MARTIN DEL CAMPO was of the Tepatitlan Martin Del Campos.
Married NIEVES MUNOZ AVILES. They resided in Guadalajara.
Children:
ISMAEL, b. abt. 1853, became a shoemaker
TOMAS, who became a tailor
ISMAEL MARTIN DEL CAMPO
Married RITA ROBLES RIVERA (I have a copy of their civil marriage record,
February 3, 1875), daughter of EMIDIO ROBLES and MANUELA RIVERA, who lived
to be over 100 years old, Rita's brother was JUAN ROBLES and he was married
to a woman named REFUGIO.
Children of Ismael and Rita:
ALBERTO MARTIN DEL CAMPO ROBLES, b. abt. 1882, d. July 31, 1941 (I have a
copy of his death certificate from Guadalajara).
DOLORES "LOLA" MARTIN DEL CAMPO, owned a shoe store on the main plaza in
Guadalajara, which burned in the Revolution. She died in Los Angeles.
ALBERTO MARTIN DEL CAMPO ROBLES
Married FRANCISCA CABRAL GONZALEZ, b. abt. 1882 in Guadalajara to BENIGNO
CABRAL (a sailor from Portugal) and PIOQUINTA GONZALEZ FIGUEROA, (b. 1836,
d. 1916; born in Madrid, Spain of nobility, had eloped with Benigno to
Zacatecas from Spain to escape family's disapproval); Francisca died October
20, 1936 and is buried in the Guadalajara Municipal Cemetery next to her
husband. I have photos of their headstones. Benigno's and Pioquinta's
other children were: Daniel, Jose Maria, Refugio, Miguel, Virginia, Juana,
Luz, then Francisca, and Isabel.
Children of Alberto and Francisca:
ALBERTO
ROSARIO, later became ROSARIO ROMERO
MAGDALENA, b. May 25, 1907 in Guadalajara, d. February 9, 1988 in Glendale,
Ca. (my grandmother, who married Jesus Demetrio Frias of Ciudad Guerrero,
Chihuahua).

I hope it is okay to post this information in a message. I have not yet
verified all of this information yet, other than what I have specifically
mentioned, so I wanted to wait before I made any official contribution as a
family history file.
Thanks to Janet Iglesias for telling me about this wonderful group and
thanks to Joseph Puentes for welcoming me into the group.

Hi, Lisa:
Isn't this exciting! I called my mom on the phone right away to tell her
about you. You're lucky. I never met any of my mother's family other than
her parents. Carmen is still alive and well in New Jersey. She's in her
90's. I guess their sisters, Mercedes and Rosario lived with her until they
died. My mom talks with Carmen on the phone from time to time and she has
been another source of genealogy information for me. I better go meet her
some day!
Wow, this is great! I never thought I would get in touch with an actual
relative on this group. Thank-you for contacting me.
My grandmother, Magdalena, was married to Jesus Demetrio Frias, but he
changed his name to Fred. They are both dead since the 1980's. They had
five children, Robert, Alice, Bernice, my mother, Edward, and Ralph. Robert
and Alice live near me and Eddie lives in Torrance. Ralph is no longer
living. My mother's husband, Charles Fultz, died last year, so my mom lives
alone now in Upland. They had five children, too, Galen, Valerie (died of
leukemia in 2002), Wade, Kevin, and me, Corrine Fultz, though I am now
Corrine Ardoin through marriage. I am 48 years old, as of last month. My
mother was the only child of her siblings born in Mexico, in Guadalajara in
1931, so her aunts used to call her "La Tapatia," like her mother.
Bye, Corrine

Corrine's Martin del Campo: Added Introduction
Corrine,
I moved this thread over to the research list.
Also I will be looking for the new members to submit their genealogies
by 31 Jan 2007 I'm sure by then you'll have a made great progress in the
group with regards to your Martin del Campo surname, but if nothing else
what you have submitted here would be enough to meet the sending in your
representative tree requirement. So when you are ready you can put the
following into a "Word" document. Make a folder for yourself following
the exact format you will find in the "Files" and "Members Genealogies"
area of the group and enter the Word document. By doing that you will
never have to worry about whether or not your have met the requirement
for membership in the group because it will be done.
As for Martin del Campo sorry I'm not one or from the Los Altos area but
there are many good researchers in the group that are.

Introduction
I am David Delgado and this is my introduction. I have been "hanging around" the group for more than a year. My list of families is finally submitted and available at: . My ancestors are from the Aguascalientes, Ags. and Jalisco areas. The areas in Jalisco are: Cienega De Mata, Encarnacion De Diaz, Teocaltiche and Lagos De Moreno. I have some ancestors who are from Pinos, Zacatecas (not delgado). The surnames of interest to me thus far: delgado, albarado, garcia, espitia, lomellin, gomes, briones and possibly lujano. Those surnames are all from my paternal grandfather's side. I'm not sure who exactly is my paternal grandmother. It's possible Dad was taken from his birth mother. It's a situation I have been working on for three decades. I am a retired teacher and administrator (high school) and if I can help anyone, I will.

My name is Manuel Castillo. I`m 70 years old. Was born in western Nebraska but have lived in Denver, Co. since 1967.
I`ve been doing genealogy research for the last 5 years.I`ts been a slow go, but I`m satisfied with my progress....Some times the ADOBE WALLS have a way to slow a person down.
I`m not too sharp with my computer skills. But I try.
I never got to know both sets of grand parents.
Like most people I didn`t pay too much attention to the stories my parents told to me.
Both my parents died before I got into genealogy. How I regret that!!!!
My New Mexico research is going well.
My Mexico research is slow but I have gone back 5 generations. The names that are my main interest are Castillo and Rubalcaba around Nochishlan,Zacatecas,Mexico.

Introduction
Welcome, Manuel,
I am 67 years old, I was born in Brush (Morgan County) Colorado, and I have been a member of Nuestros Ranchos for quite a while. My husband has some Rubalcabas in his ancestry. They were from Jalisco and Aguascalientes.
I am interested in your New Mexico research. The moderator of Nuestros Ranchos also has a group for those of us who have ancestors from Juarez, El Paso and New Mexico. Did you know about this other group? You can join it on Yahoo Groups-- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ciudad_Juarez . There is hardly any activity on that group, I think perhaps because of the name, but Rootsweb certainly lists many people with Juarez-El Paso-New Mexico ancestry that could benefit from joining that group. I guess this group has more people with recent ties to Mexico. The New Mexico people have ties mostly to Juarez, El Paso, Mesilla Valley and Albuquerque.
I will send you a private e-mail to ask more about your New Mexico ancestry. My mother was a native New Mexican, and her Spanish ancestors originated in Juarez which was then called Paso del Norte.
Again, welcome,
Emilie Garcia
