I have posted in the links section a new link to Lynn Turner's Hispanic Genealogy blog. The collection of information is very good and includes a link to the Mexico 1930 Census online.

He montado un nuevo vinculo en la seccion de vinculos a la pagina de Lynn Tuner que trata de la genealogia hispana. La coleccion de informacion es muy buena e incluye un vinculo al censo de Mexico de 1930 disponible en linea.

Hi, Erlinda,
Yes, I was able to access it. At first I got the error page (cannot be found), but I clicked where it says to click on the familysearch.org page and the registration page came up and I typed in my e-mail address and the search fields came up.
I don't know a soul in Jerez or Encarnacion de Diaz that I or my husband are related to (our ancestors left Mexico about 100 years ago and they never kept in touch with those they left behind), and I don't know what records have been filmed but are not in the IGI so I can see if at least I can bring up the digitized images. I tried finding my relatives that I can't find in the IGI and no success.
I also tried the 1930 Mexico Census, and I couldn't find Zacatecas listed, but I found Jalisco and Aguascalientes, so I went to that and clicked on Aguascalientes - Rincon de Romo - Pabellon, and because of my very slow dial-up connection I waited almost 10 minutes for the first page to download (it has nine pages). I couldn't read the writing since it was so faint. I used the zoom feature, still couldn't read it, then I tried the reverse to negative feature, and it was a little better, but I still couldn't make out the writing. (Did they use disappearing ink?)
If you still can't get in, e-mail me directly and tell me what is going on. Maybe we two can work it out for you. If you got the e-mail, you should be able to access the site. Getting in is the first hurdle as they state.
Emilie

I've tried several times to access the Mexico 1930 census online through this link, with no success.
The link takes me to the Familysearch page, and asks for my email addrees. I enter it, and even though I'm registered on Familysearch.org, it states it doesn't recognize my email address. I try to click the register button below, but nothing opens and I can't seem to get any further. Could someone please let me know how to access the cesus online? Thanks so much, Alice

Alice,
I registered as they asked with just my e-mail address, and I got an e-mail from Family Search Beta, telling me that this is a special "Records Search" pilot being done by their research labs. I can't give you a copy of the e-mail because of the message that appeared at the bottom:
"NOTICE: This email message is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information. Any unauthorized review, use, disclosure or distribution is prohibited. If you are not the intended recipient, please contact the sender by reply email and destroy all copies of the original message".
They want me to test the project by searching for certain things to see if I can bring up the images, etc. and they I am to send back my feedback. They want to work out all bugs before they open the project to the general public.
