I've been reading some of the emails/postings regarding a book that has information on family names (research). What book is/are they referring to? Would I be able to request a search on my family? I would not want to impose but if it would help me to find some of my ancestors, I would appreciate any assistance. I'm sure we all know how difficult some searches can be---especially as we get into the 17-1600. Please let me know. Thank you.
Ann Marie Gutierrez
P.S. My searches are in Arandas and Jalostitlan. The family Name is Gutierrez.
My Mother's side of the family was Gutierrez and my ex-husband's Father was also Gutierrez and also from the area of Jalostitlan and Aguascalientes. My Father-in-law always teased me about maybe our being "parientes" since I looked so much like his family.
I also would like to THANK YOU ALL for the help I've been given so far in my searches. You are a great group of people--devoted to helping others and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. As it was through "Nuestros Ranchos" assistance, that I found my Mother's birth certificate....Joseph, you hold a special place in my heart for that find. Thank you.
Book on research?
Hi Ann,
There are several books that have some family trees in them. I currently have one on loan from the library "Genealogía de Nochistlán antiguo reino de la Nueva Galicia en el siglo XVII según sus archivos parroquiales" this written by Jose Luiz Vazques y Rodrigues de Frias it contains a history of the families of Nochistlan. I own a booked named "Archivos parroquiales de Aguascalientes, Siglo SVII. It also has a number of parrish records. APdeAg (short for the title) is loaded with records but I haven't had a chance to read the book. Since it doesn't have an name index it is much more difficult to find the names as I would have to go page by page to find them. I'm not sure what books you are referring to. I you would like a name looked up in Genealogia de Nochistlan......I would be glad to look it up.

Book on research?
Hi Juanita, If you would please...look up the name of Jose Manuel Gutierrez
(1764) and see if you find anything on him. In your book on Aguascalientes,
please see if you find the birth records and dates of my father-in-law, Lino
Gutierrez, b.23 Sept 1900 but I don't know where. His parents Pedro Gutierrez
and Anastacia de Anda. Pedro Gutierrez was from Coral de Piedra, Jalisco. I
looked in Arandas, Jalostitlan where they thought he was born...I think his
family was guessing. I will appreciate any help you can give me in finding more
info/clues to my ancestors. Thank you.
Ann M. Gutierrez
