Also go on the PARES website and do a search for "Flota de Nueva España."
Click on "Casa de la Contratación" and you should find a list with the title
"Registro de navio: (name of the ship will be listed). Click on any of the
ships in the list and you will find details. In some cases documents have
been digitized and can be viewed. You can also do searches for "Lista de
pasajeros" for any particular ship in a fleet. Try filtering your searches
for dates of sailings using the above book as a guide for those years.

I am trying to locate an archive of the names of spanish galleons that
sailed to Mexico during the colonial period.

I know that the term "Flota de Indias" was referred to the Spanish
galleons.

While I was trying to find it, I ran across an interesting Capitan name
Blas de Lezo who was a Capitan of Spanish Armada and was known as one of the
best naval strategic capitans of the Spanish Armada:
