I am curious as to how much or how far education reached in our villages? Our ancestors would have had to register themselves when they attended schools. So I am curious if there are any archives on school registry to track down what schools our ancestors went to during the colonial period?
Are there any archivs on
I am not sure about the area which this site covers, but I do know the Spanish did keep records for school enrollment. In Chihuahua, there are records for school enrollment as early as the first decade of the 19th century. If there are records for schools in Nueva Galicia, they might be within the municipal records of a city.
Are there any archivs on School Registry during Colonial times?
great question!

Interesting question? I, too, would be interested in knowing if there are any school registry archives in existence.
