I just found another child born around 1765 (marriage records states he is 28 yo)
Claudio
Since the children were it seems all born in Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco, his parents were probably married in the same location abt 1763-65 (last child might be 1785)only Encarnacion's records dont start until 1789 for IM and marriages 1778.
I found that all of the following have a San Antonio where Claudio was born
Bolanos, San Juan de los Lagos, Teocaltiche, La Barca, Atotonilco el Alto and Zapotlan. perhaps one of the membership familiar with this may provide further insight of where the records of Encarnacion were before this time.
Juan Martin De Torres
1750–Deceased • 9ZQ5-NFB
Ana Jacinta De Los Santos
1753–Deceased • 9ZQ5-NYN

Encarnacion de Diaz, prior to becoming a municipality was part of two other
Municipios, San Juan de Los Lagos and Teocaltiche Jalisco, depending on the
proximity of each of these municipios. Encarnacion did not become a
municipality until 1823.

Thanks for that info on Encarnacion, Alicia. Tony's great-grandparents immigrated from there, so it is good to know its history.

My grand parents, José María Martinez=Regina Peña, were born and emigrated via El Paso, TX, to the U. S. in the early 1900's. My grandfather was a "traquero" for the Atchinson, Topeka, & Kansas RR, beginning in Kansas, and ending in California, working now with the Southern Pacific RR, where he retired after 30-years. Quite a journey.
