New names in my Munoz line: San Juan de los Lagos
Hola Sophia,
You can add me as another cousin. I also descend from Francisco Gutierres
de Mendoza Rubio and Ana Gonzalez Florida several times over. One line is
through their daughter Catalina Gutierrez Rubio, another one through their
son Miguel Gutierrez Rubio and a third one through their daughter Ana
Gonzalez Florida (named after her mother and married to Juan Gonzalez de
Hermosillo).
As Ronnie points out, if you are researching in Los Altos we all end up
connecting somehow because of the frequency of consanguinity in the
marriages. Much has been written about this topic by several authors. Some
of the more well known are: "Retonos de Espana en la Nueva Galicia" by Lic.
Jalisco" by Professor Martha Duron Jimenez. The people of los Altos are
often accused of being an elitist group. Professor Duron writes in her
Anyway, if you haven't already read these books I highly recommend them.
Saludos de tu nueva prima,
Maria Cortez
