While in Salt Lake City last weekend, I spent time going through the earliest Zacatecas, Zacatecas film of "Informacion Matrimonial." I have begun extracting all of the marriages from 1604 (beginning of the film) through 1628 (when the film lapses until about 1680).
I have uploaded what I have extracted thus far into the GEDCOM database in a tree called Zacatecas Marriages. Unfortunately, most of the entries do not include parents' names.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this... to give you an idea of what is in there:

Francisca Baptista Balthazar Gomez 1605

Zacatecas Marriages 1600s
Marge:
That is great that you are that far back in your genealogy. I have a couple of questions for you. Did you already have Ana de Banuelos and Vicente Saldivar's marriage date? If so, where did you get it from? I want to make sure that I am not duplicating work if this extraction has already been done.
Let me know if you want the scan of their marriage entry.

Arturo and Marge:
Vicente de Saldivar and Ana de Banuelos are also in my direct lineage. My
source for their marriage is:
"Fundadores de Nueva Galicia-Guadalajara, Tomo 1" by Garmendia Leal, Pg.
144.
Another source: sources of marriage and death info are John Inclan's
genealogy. Inclan also states: "He was the nephew and second cousin to Juan
de Onate, the founder of New Mexico. He was the conqueror of the Acoma
Indians of New Mexico and held the title "Maese de Campo". In 1626 he was
admitted to the prestigious military order of Santiago. Inclan's sources:
"Historia de la Nueva Mexico-1610" by Gaspar Perez de Villagra, pg XXVIII &
XXX. Also: "The Last Conquistador-Juan de Onate and the Settling of the Far
Southwest" by Marc Simmons. Also: "With All Arms-A Study of a Kindred
Group" by Carl Laurence Duaine.
Source: History of Texas Online, from the book by Geo. P. Hammond, pg 788,
"Don Juan de Onate, Colonizer of New Mexico". "On Dec. 11, 1601m at the
pueblo of San Gabriel, New Mexico, the Maese de Campo, Vicente de Saldivar
presented as witness before Gov. Don Juan de Onate, the reverend Father,
Fray Francisco de Velasco, of the order of St. Francis and guardian of the
convent of this pueblo. The priest swore that he had known the Maese de
Campo, Don Vicente de Saldivar, and this heknew that he was the legitimate
son of Don Vicente de Saldivar and Dona Magdalena de Mendoza; that his
father had been the viceroy's lieutenant general during the peace time in
Zacatecas, Nueva Galicia. This statement was signed by Don Juan de Onate,
Fray Francisco de Velasco and notarized by Juan Gutierrez Bocanegra.
On 14 May 1602 in Mexico City, Petition of the Maese de Campo, Vicente de
Zaldivar Mendoza reads: Mighty Lord, I, Vicente de Zaldivar Mendoza, your
Maese de Campo general in the provinces and Kingdoms of New Mexico, state
that I came to this court by order of the adelantado, Don Juan de Onate, who
is also your governor and captain general of the said provinces and
kingdoms, and by order of your viceroy in Mexico, to inform your highness of
the state of affairs of the said conquest, in regard to which the viceroy
and the audiencia of Mexico made investigations in order that it might thus
be better understood, and, at my behest, testimony was taken before the said
royal audiencia which I am presenting with this letter in order that it may
be considered, together with all the other papers. I beg and entreat your
highness to place these papers with those sent by the viceroy and audiencia
of Mexico in order that the most fitting measures may be taken for the royal
service of your highness as soon as possible. This is essential both because
of the importance of this business and because of the great danger in which
the adelantado, Don Juan de Onate, was left owing to the small number of
people in his garrison and town of San Gabriel, and in order to prevent the
Indians of the larger settlements from getting arms or uniting and marching
on the place where the governor is, which may be feared if the Indians
should hear of the small force under the command of the adelantado. Should
this happen, all the effort and expense, as well as the great services which
the adelantado has rendered to your highness, would be lost. So, I request
justice, and so forth. Vicente de Zaldivar Mendoza. . (Original
document is at the Archivo General de Indias, Seville, Spain. "Don Juan de
Onate-Colonizer of Ne Mexico 1595-1628" by Geo. P. Hammond; "Portraits of
Basques in the New World" edited by Richard W. Etulain and Heronima
Echeverria; "Rio del Norte" by Carroll L. Riley.

Zacatecas Marriages 1600s
Arturo,
Melchora Abrego and Pedro Flores are my direct ancestors. Was there other information available on the marriage investigation like parents or place of birth or were they listed as veciinos? I am descended from their son Nicolas.
THanks,

Melchora Abrego
Esther:
I have transcribed (as best I could) the entire entry off the film and it is available in the GEDCOM database. If you search under Melchora Abrego you will find your entry for her and my entry for her.
Where did you find these people? I am thinking that this has already been transcribed somewhere but cannot figure out where since just bits and pieces show up in various compiled genealogies. Perhaps Gramendia-Leal or Inclan have transcriptions that they have not shared with the general public?
Zacatecas Marriages 1600s
Esther and Arturo,
I made a copy of that entry in SLC because they are my direct ancestors
also.....I descend directly from their son Juan Flores de Abrego.....this
line ties in with my Trevino lineage when they use the Abrego and Trevino
names within the same family.....quite confusing sometimes~!
Esther, the original entry does not state anything about parents or place of
birth. The only other info they state is that the padrinos were "Juan de
Montalvo and Dona Ma. Delanga (?) su mujer de esta cuidad." Most of the
entries at this time on this film did not contain info on parents, etc.
Esther......I am getting ready to leave tomorrow (again!) but will return
next week......I will work on the info I said I would send you.....please be
patient with me! :-) My problema is that I have been AWAY from home MORE
than I am at home!
Will keep in touch!
