Hello all, my name is Lorenzo Carrillo, I'm from San Diego, ca and am one of the newest members of this site. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am 16 and have been interested in family researching since I was 12. I'm currently researchin the families : Carrillo, Juarez, rodarte, reveles, Avila, muro, Garcia, sotelo, Ramires, robles, hernandez, finada, Ortega, aristorena, roman, and Estrada. They all are from the state of Zacatecas . I became interested when I came to the realization a few years ago that I could only trace back to my great grandfather ( Lorenzo Carrillo Avila). My fathers side is my primary research from Zacatecas. My mothers side if the family all came from different parts of chihuahua . But, I'm very optimistic that I'll be able to unveil the truth of our roots from bothsides. People are often amazed at my age and all the work I do, but it's something valuable to me and my family and an activity I love to do.well I'm really looking forward to working with all of you in the near future , god bless and thank you for the opportunity to join this group. Sincerely , Lorenzo Carrillo .

Lorenzo,
You are researching the same area's I am. Jerez, Tepetongo and Villanueva. Although, only two of the names you are researching are also those which I have found in my research. I have the surname of Reveles and, I have also found the name Avila as the possible wife to one of my ancestors. Both names comming from Villanueva.

Welcome Lorenzo!
We share a common trait. My grandfather and my mother were also genealogist and I was blessed
with the opportunity to start and continue on their research when I was 12. One learns so much
about themselves in genealogy; the people that make who you are, your blood. If you need any help
or questions feel free to email me, even if its guidance. mendezdelcamino@live.com

Hello Alicia, my Carrillo family was from Jerez, nochistlan, rancho de Los Juarez and tepetongo, villanueva, and a few other places I don't know yet. I understand when you talk about elders.one My grandparents from Zacatecas passed away before I was bore I was born and my grandmother passed when I was seven. The only resource for stories and info I have left are my father and his siblings but it's alot better than nothing:) on my mothers side however, I have a set of great grandparents and one great grandmother who are into their 90s the set live here in San diego and my ggrandmother lives in Sacramento. Her husband( my great grandfather) lived to be 92 and the whole time we had him, NOBODY ASKED ABOUT HIS FAMILy. We made that error but I went out and bought a tape recorder yesterday to be able to get oral history going for my research.

I applaud you for beginning so young and with such zeal!

Lorenzo,
That's very commendable of you to search for your roots at a very young age.
Unfortunately some of us started too late and the elders in our family are no
longer around to tell their stories.
What part of Zacatecas was your family from, that will help us all to help you.
Alicia,
San Jose, Ca
