My husband's ancestors, surnames Naranjo, Covarrubias, Franco were from San Gabriel, Jal. Sometime between 1914 & 1930 they moved to La Cienega/El Limon, Jal. I'm curious as to why so many of the family moved there. Would anyone know of any particular historical condition that made people leave San Gabriel?
Naranjo, Covarrubias, Franco
Several of us have ancestors with these names and they were into the area of Tecolotlan, Ayutla, Autlan, and Ejutla and many other area since the early 1600's.
What may have happened is that they moved to San Gabriel from these other areas and were returning to be near family. Historically those dates coincide with the Post-Revolution and then the Guerra de Cristeros in the 1930's. Feel free to make contact for any help.
