The line I am researching is heavily documented down to Diego de Lomelín and his wife, Gerónima de Liebana y Velasco, by many baptisms of their (at least) eight children between 1692 and 1715, and by the baptism of Gerónima (wife of Diego) in 1675. So while the names of the parents of Gerónima are known with certainty (Juan Basilio de Velasco and Nicolasa de Liebana), those of the parents of Diego de Lomelín are not.
Does anyone have proof of the parentage of Diego de Lomelín? All of his children except the last (in 1715) were baptised in Ayo el Chico.
Best wishes,

Parents of Diego de Lomelín
Javier Sanchiz Ruiz has the parents of Diego de Lomelín as Manuel Lomelín Mendoza and Josefa Pérez Maldonado.

I believe this is also what is found in Retoños de España.

Parents of Diego de Lomelín
Hola, Ronnie y Armando,
My thanks to both of you for responding to my post. I have seen Sanchiz Ruiz' pages on GeneaNet, but the Vasquez information is new to me. Documentation is critical here, of course, but I shall incorporate the information as a guide to future research.
Thanks again.

Diego de lomelin
Hola Lawrence , In "Jose luis Vazquez's book -Genealogia de Nochistlan- Chapter 28 page 96 there is a Diego Lomelin y Munoz Cabeza de Hermosillo. It states that Diego is the son of Joseph Lomeli y Gonzalez de Hermosillo and Micaela Gonzalez de Hermosillo. It does not say whom he married, I don't know if he is the one you are seeking.
