Hi, Everyone,
I am tracing my ancestry back in Zacoalco de Torres through the 1800s and I got stuck on my great-great-great-grandparents. Here is what I have:
Jose Santos Reynaga b. Abt 1864 m. Cristina Frias b. Abt. 1864
-Maria Concepcion Reynaga b. 21 May 1884, Zacoalco m. Crispiniano Toribio b. Abt 1871, Zacoalco
+Victoria Toribio Reynaga de Ruiz b. 5 Sep1904, Zacoalco
+Jose Alfonso Toribio Reynaga b. 14 Aug 1906, Zacoalco
I need to find parents for both Jose Santos Reynaga and Cristina Frias. I can't find any record of their births or marriage. I've searched many volumes of records from Zacoalco. I do not know if they were born in Zacoalco. I checked the hijos naturales, as well, and still had no luck. There are a few other people across Mexico with similar names, but I am just lost on how to find the next generation back. I estimated their DOB based on their child's DOB.
Also, I can't find a birth or baptism record for Maria Concepcion Reynaga. I found her DOB on her immigration record when she came up to California to visit her daughter Victoria. She lived in Tijuana for a time with Jose Alfonso.
Do any of you have these people in your tree? Can you help me find their records?
Thank you!

Help in Zacoalco de Torres
Hello, I´m researching ancestors in Zacoalco, too. Check my family file and see if you recognize any surnames.
I don´t have any Reynagas in my family tree, but I can give you some suggestions of what I do when I´m stuck in a similar situation. First, look for all the brothers and sisters of Maria Concepcion Reynaga. Don´t just assume that the names of the parents are spelled or written correctly on your direct ancestor´s baptism. Check what it says on the baptisms of their brothers and sisters. Next, check for the marriages and matrimonial informations for your ancestor Maria Concepcion Reynaga, and once again, for the marriages of her brothers and sisters. Often times, they mention the names of the parents, and if they were alive or dead at that time. Also, sometimes they provide the place of origin. With that you might get an approximate date of death of your ancestors Jose Santos Reynaga and Cristina Frias and you can look for their death certificates. Death certificates often have lots of information, too. Another suggestion in your case. On the years you are looking for, there was already a registro civil in Zacoalco, so check on both the church and the civil registry for all events for all the people I mentioned.
After you do all this, I´m sure you´ll get plenty of clues to break your brickwall. If all fails, check the parish records nearby: Acatlan de juarez, barranca de Santa Clara, Atotonilco el Bajo, etc.
