Dear Members,
I need your assistance to locate records of my ancestors in Zacatecas during the 1800's. I have names from baptismal records and once I've cross into the 1700's I find records on Family Search. Where do I go to receive information of the 1800's?
I'm also hitting a wall once I'm into the late 1600's. I would so appreciate information on how to proceed.
In chilly Colorado,
Carolyn
Re: Stuck in the 1800's
Hi Carolyn,
I do all of my Zacatecas research through the Familysearch.org site, as well as the Guadalajara Marriage Dispensations. From your posts on message boards, you and I seem to share various lines (Gaitan-Arias de Bedoya, Delgado-Delgado, Gomez-Tiscareno); when I research my lines, I try include all of my direct ancestor's children, with their marriages and offsprings, thus getting as many of the branches and tributaries as possible - perhaps I may have some of yours in my data base? My primary focus is Pinos, Zacatecas. Which lines are you having trouble with?
Regards,

Stuck in the 1800's
Hello Manny!
I have seen your ancestry file and yes we do share many lines.
My 2 GG-father was Bonifacio Jimenez who married Maria Bernarda Esparza. It is through the Esparza Gaitan line that we are related. Through the Gaitan line I am back to the late 1600's in my research.
I know Bonifacio's parents were Pablo Jimenez and Maria Carmen Rodriguez. The next generation is Juan Jose Jimenez and Maria Trinidad Roman and Jose Maria Rodriguez and Dolores Mares. All these names have been obtained from baptismal records on Family Search. I can't seem to locate any of their records.
All these names are on my grandmothers paternal line. I will include my grandmother's maternal line names in case you have them in your files. The names are Moreno, Arroyo, Torres, Carillo and Guzman probably from the area of Jerez.
I await good news Primo!

Stuck in the 1800s
Hi Carolina,
I want to apologize for the delay in my response, I haven't been able to contribute as much time to my research lately.
I'm sorry to say, I haven't any of the individuals you mention in my tree. Now, you say you've found the indexed records for these individuals, but haven't been able to find the documents in the archives? If that's the case, forward me the indexes, and I can try searching for them: I've gotten pretty good at navigating the film rolls (I have notepads, filled with filmroll numbers, with the images indexed by year & month - kicking myself for not digitizing it for upload! Some day, when I have the time...).
Regarding your grandmother's maternal line:
CARRILLO: my g6s, Francisco Diego Carrillo Lisardi, married Maria Guadalupe Diaz de Leon, 10 Aug 1728, in Cienega de Mata, Ojuelos, Jalisco. According to the marriage record, they were from Pinos, Zacatecas, but it gives no parents. I descend from their daughter Maria Estephania Gertrudis Carrillo, who married Andres Diaz de Leon Duron, 25 Mar 1743, in Pinos, Zacatecas. Otherwise, I have nothing on this line.
TORRES: The only Torres I see in my tree is Paula Ramirez Torres, who was married to Diego Ramirez de Pedroso; I have her parents as Nicolas Ramirez de Tavera and Polonia de Torres, and I'm brickwalled there. They were born around 1570. I believe they were married in Aguascalientes, and might have lived in Lagos or Jalos, Jalisco.
MORENO: I don't have any in my direct line, but I know some of my families intermarried with Moreno's, I'll dig around.
GUZMAN: my g8s are Pedro de Guzman and Alphonsina de la Paz, who married 11 Feb 1629, in Guadalajara, Jalisco. I have this union producing 7 children in Guadalajara. I descend from their daughter, Ysabel Guzman, who married Nicolas de las Rosas, 22 Aug 1661, in Guadalajara. That union produced 9 children, all born in Guadalajara.
ARROYO: I have none in my tree whatsoever.
I hope all's well!

Still looking for records of the 1800's
Carolyn Gomez Duran
hi Manny,
I too had taken a break from searching so not to worry.
I wasn't very clear explaining what I actually have in my records. I only record names and information if I read the actual record. I am quite frustrated but continue my search. It's amazing how I can find information from 1700 and earlier but the 1800's are a void.
Thanks for your support!
Merry Christmas
Carolyn
