Oh my God! I found the matrimonio of my GGGG Grandparents Francisco Madera and Maria Leocadia De Huizar which is in the year 1760 and I am shocked from where it says about their origins!

What???? I am stunned! I cleary have Francisco Madera and Maria Leocadia De Huizar son, Juan Venancio (Benancio) Madera Espanol being born in "Rancho De Los Maderas in 1762! Which I have posted earlier:
http://oi60.tinypic.com/9kmdn8.jpg
Also have proof in a defunto record when Maria Leocadia De Huizar Espanola passed away in 1813 at 30 that she is from Rancho De Ximulco:
http://oi60.tinypic.com/sglc77.jpg
So that makes Francisco Madera the brother of Lazaro Madera (which I posted ealier) since their parents are "Blas Madera and Maria Theresa Abila.
Francisco Madera would also be the uncle of "Marcelo Madera" who was the owner of "Rancho De Los Maderas" in a census of 1828 (I only copied first page) where it shows "Don Marcelo Madera and Juana Ramirez" first on the list:
http://oi61.tinypic.com/2820pz5.jpg
This also makes Marcelo Madera first cousin of my paternal GGG Grandfather Juan Venancio (Benancio) Madera. Funny is they are both my GGG Grandfathers since both of them have direct lineage to my Grandfather Antonio Madera Madera. Where Juan Benancio Madera goes through my grandfather's paternal side and Marcelo Madera goes through my grandfathers maternal side:
Antonio Madera Madera:
Paternal Side:
Calixto Madera De La Paz (Ximulco, Cerro Blanco
Patricio Madera (1792 Ximulco)/Maria Dimas De La Paz, Espanola
Juan Venancio Madera Espanol 1762 Rancho Maderas/Maria Josefa? Geronima Fernandez?
Joseph Francisco Madera(Rancho Madera) /Maria Leocadia De Huizar (Ximulco)
Blas Madera/Maria Theresa Abila
Maternal Side:
Maria Clemencia Madera (Rancho De Los Maderas)wife of Calixto Madera De La Paz
Benito Madera (Rancho De LosMadera)1833/Maria Estanislada Ramirez
Marcelo Madera (Rancho De Los Madera) /Juana Ramirez
Lazaro Madera (Rancho De Los Madera)/Juana Micaela Perales
Blas Madera/Maria Theresa Abila
Oh my God did we Maderas originate from Mesquitic and moved over to Huejuquilla? So when did "Rancho De Los Madera's was founded? Because then I assume it could have been founded by either Blas Madera or the son Francisco Madera. But it making me think it could Blas Madera that founded Rancho De Los Madera's after coming over from Mesquitic.
At the same time the parents of my GGGG Grandmother Maria Loecadia Huizar, Espanola (Ximulco) who are Pedro Huizar and Maria Magdalena Navarette, Espanoles from Valparaiso came over to Huejuquilla and established themselves at Rancho Ximulco where Maria Leocadia De Huizar, Espanola was born.
Wow! But anyway to describe how my Grandfather Antonio Madera Madera looks like, he has a light complexion with blue eyes. Also a very old man in Huejuquilla by the last name Rimoldi told me he met my Great Grandfather Calixto Madera when he was already old in the early 1900's. And he describe him as looking very European with blue eyes. Most of Dad's brother and sisters have blue eyes but my Dad and another sister have brown eyes.

Maderas and de la Paz
You mentioned Maria Dimas de la Paz, you are right her parents were Maximo de la Paz and Maria Agatona Ledesma,I have them in my tree. I also have Maximo de la Paz parents,Pedro Ramon de la Paz(1762 to 3/5/1825 Huejuquilla)and Maria Gertrudis Luna. Pedro Ramon had 2 other wives which were Maria Josefa Aguilar and Maria Ygnes Miramontes. Pedro Ramon de la Paz parents were Eugenio Fernando de la Paz(8/5/1737 Aguascalientes)and Maria Luisa de la Torre. He was also married to Maria Ciriaca Flores.Eugenio Fernando de la Paz parents were Antonio de la Paz and Anna de Luera.
I'm sorry I dont have the links to all this info, but I did the research myself and saved the images for reference. If you would like copies of the images let me know and I will try to figure out how to send the image to just you through the website, if not I can just email you the images.

Maderas and de la Paz
Thank you Ruben,
Can you tell me the Rancho that Maximo De La Paz is from? It says in the bautismo of my Great Great Grandmother Maria Dimas De La Paz in 1819 as from "Rancho Del Quitaste"
Can't read the writing.
Maximo de la Paz
I never found his baptism record, but his father died in Rancho del Salitre and all of Maximo's brothers and sisters for whom I have records also say Rancho del Salitre. Maximo'siblings,
Jose Justo de la Paz (7-7-1784 to 1-23-1830)married Maria Josefa Ramona Madera
Maria Gertrudis Pioquinta de la Paz (7-6-1795)
Maria Victoria de la Paz (1791 to 10-12-1810)
Maria Luisa de la Paz (1798 to 09-20-1814)
So his father lived in Rancho del Salitre up to his death and his siblings were also born there.Until we find a record for him we can only assume he was also from Rancho del Salitre.
Ruben
Maximo de la Paz
I am familiar about Rancho Del Salitre. There are two of them. Rancho Salitre De Arriba which on the north side of the road that leads into Huejuquilla. And there is Rancho Salitre De Abajo, which is on the south side of the road.
Maderas
I've been reading your past post on your research and I too have ancestors that originated in Mezquitic around the same time and ended up in Huejuquilla and Valparaiso in the Rancho de los Maderas and Rancho Jimulco. Except, my ancestors were Navarrete and de la Paz. Both families did marry into the Maderas. I was only able to go back to early 1700's with Agustin Navarrete and wife Leonora Rivera.Their son's Domingo Navarrete (1724 Mezquitic) and Juan Navarrete (1735 Mezquitic). I am trying to see if Maria Magdalena Navarrete(your ancestor) was related to them in any way.
Also, these are some of my other ancestor last names from Huejuquilla and Valparaiso from about the same time, de la Paz y Esparza, Perez y Carrillo, Diaz y Banuelos, Catano y Flores,Pacheco y Miramontes, and Gallegos. I am glad you found the image you were looking for, since a lot of Huejuquilla is not indexed. I remember the frustration researching Huejuquilla baptisms because the images were very blurry but rewarding.
Good Luck.
Ruben
Maderas
Thanks Ruben,
Maria Magdalena Navarette who was married to Pedro Huizar. Says in the document they are from Valparaiso. There daughter "Maria Leocadia De Huizar" has been referenced as being from "Rancho Ximulco" so I assume she was born in Ximulco.
When you mention the surname "De La Paz" My Great Great Grandfather Patricio Madera (Rancho Ximulco 1792) had kids with "Maria Dimas De La Paz Espanola" (my great great grandmother). She was 27 years younger than Patricio Madera and she was born in 1819 and her parents are Maximo De La Paz and Maria Agatona Ledesma and they are from Rancho Del Quitaste (can't read it clearly). You can see it here:
http://oi57.tinypic.com/4lg01z.jpg
Patricio Madera and Maria Dimas De La Paz are the parents of my great grandfather Calixto Madera De La Paz who I estimate was born sometime in the 1850's.
I still can't find his bautismo but I have his brothers and sister's bautismos and all born in the 1850's. As for example the brother of my great grandfather Calixto Madera (1853? - 1923), his name is Julian Madera (1859) and here is the document on him where it shows Patricio Madera and Maria Dimas De La Paz as the parents:

Maderas
Now I am more stunned that I just realized that Ed Serros, one of the members of this website has already found my GGGGG Grandfather Blas Madera and I copied the part in what he wrote on one of my past posts:
"I too have family from the areas you describe. For what it is worth, I have repeatedly found the Madera family not only in Huejuquilla el Alto but in the nearby town of Mezquitic, Jalisco. The marriages and baptisms of the Maderas in Mezquitic date back to at least 1686 (Mormon film numbers 1164940 and 1164952). I suspect this is the same family since these towns were all frontier land back then. The elite (well-to-do mestizos, criollos, and the rare peninsular) all intermarried; distance was not a major issue but "class" was. It was preferable to marry a non-NAI. The ultimate prize for a criollo family was to marry a peninsular but it was OK to marry another criollo or well-to-do mestizo (re-labeled "espanol"), near as I can figure from my review of centuries of records in the local area and books that I have read. Bottom line: I think we are talking about the same Madera family, with branches thereof. Also by 1686, at least one of the Madera family members, Blas Madera, son of Joseph Madera and Josepha Basquez, was labeled as mestizo. He married into the espanol Avila family: wife Maria Theresa Avila, daughter of Miguel de Avila and Gertrudis de Robles, both "espanoles." The Robles and Madera family continued to intermarry for at least a century or two."
Thank you Ed Serros! That is the Blas Madera who is my GGGGG Grandfather and to confirm it the wife is Maria Theresa Avila.
So if Blas Madera was born in 1686? That would have made him 74 years old in 1760 when his son Francisco Madera got married with Maria Leocadia De Huizar.
So Blas Madera is the son of Joseph Madera and Josepha Basquez? That gives me another generation to make them my GGGGGG Grandparents.
I am also curious about Pedro Huizar and Maria Magdalena Navarette who are from Valparaiso and the parents of my GGGG Grandmother Maria Leocadia De Huizar.

welcome to the wonderful world of family trees going back to the same person. If I remember right my cousin Daniel said he has one line that goes back 17 times to the same person in Lagos.. You must also remember that the founding families sometimes made pacts to only marry Espanol and when you start with 10 or 15 families it doesn't take long to be related to everyone!
Another suggestion, never judge lineage by skin, eye or hair color. My Mother was blond, blue eyed and extremely fair skinned but had Indian and black ancestors. If we are lucky we find we are all that Mexico had to offer and one couple could produce babies in all skin tones, hair color and eye color.

Thanks Linda for following my posts and giving me your advice. Interesting what you tell me about your family so your family is from the Lagos area? I know where that is since I have passed by there on bus and also on car.
You should have seen how I felt as soon as I turned the page to the next one and began to read and the first words "Joseph Francisco Madera" I froze and my heart jumped. I immediately read the rest of the paragraph to look for "Maria Leocadia De Huizar" and sure enough her name is there to verify it is my GGGG Grandfather Francisco Madera.
Also I saw the name "Blas Madera and Maria Theresa Abila" as the parents of Francisco Madera and they are from Mesquitic. Then saw the names Pedro Huizar and Maria Magdelena Navarette, Espanoles as the parents of Maria Leocadia Huizar and from Valparaiso. I was saying to myself? Mesquitic? Valparaiso? What????
I was assuming my ancestors were one of the original founders of the village of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico which was founded on March 23, 1573 as stated by the Government of our village.
But now I am beginning to wonder some of the Ranchos surrounding Huejuquilla were formed in the early 1700's? Probably the parents of Francisco Madera came over from Mesquitic to found Rancho De Los Maderas and the parents of Maria Leocadia Huizar came over from Valparaiso to settle in another nearby rancho.
Regarding Mesquitic? If your traveling from the South side towards Huejuquilla, Mesquitic is the last village before arriving to Huejuquilla. In between Mesquitic and Huejuquilla is the Hacienda of San Antonio.
On the south side of Mesquitic is a very tall mountain where the small village "Monte Escobedo" is way up there and from Monte Escobedo's point of view when your travedling down the mountain towards Mesquitic, Mesquitic looks tiny from a distance. And it is kind of scary the road when your traveling down the mountain. I wonder how in colonial times the people from Monte Escobedo traveled down the mountain towards Mesquitic?
I also know very well Valparaiso since I have passed by that way many times to go to the city of Zacatecas to be with the family of my female partner. Her family is from downtown of the city of Zacatecas.
Ok...now going back to the topic. I am asking myself, were many of the ranchos formed during the early 1700's around Huejuquilla? I would have to locate a registry that recorded that information during that time period. Did Blas Madera/Maria Theresa Abila and Pedro Huizar/Maria Magdalena Navarette live in Huejuquilla? I would think yes so then I can locate their defunto records that must be sometime after the year 1760 because in the matrimonio of Francisco Madera and Maria Leocadia De Huizar of 1760, when their parent's names were mentioned it seems as if they were present at the Matrimonio. So my instinct now would have me look into the defunto records after 1760 to see if I can find them and that would give me the name of another generation of people if the "Cura (Priest)" wrote down the name of the parents.
Another thing that was going through my mind was Pedro Huizar/Maria Magdalena Navarette, who are from Valparaiso. I would think they are the same age as the kids of "Don Fernando De La Campa y Cos" who is from "La Hacienda of San Mateo" that is near Valparaiso. And since Pedro Huizar/Maria Magdalena Navarette were classified as Espanoles from Valparaiso, I wonder if they had contact with the Conde Don Fernando De La Campa Y Cos (1676 - 1754)?

hello, thank you. My maternal line lived in Tamazula, Jalisco and Michoacán before that. My gr-grandmother and Daniels gr-gr grandfather were siblings but Daniels maternal line was from los Altos. My paternal family was from Jerez, Zac but my Castanon line was from Valparaiso where they left in mid 1700's for Jerez. I have not been able to locate any records from Valparaiso so if you find them please let me know.

I just found out something new. My gggg grandmother Maria Leocadia De Huizar also had a brother named "Justo Huizar" Espanol which says he is from Valparaiso and is the son of "Pedro Perez De Huizar and Maria Magdalena Navarette who married "Polonia Casilda Madera" who is the daughter of "Lazaro Madera and Juana Micaela Perales (Rancho De Los Maderas)"
Lazaro Madera is the brother of my gggg grandfather Francisco Madera.

And in the census (Padrones) of 1828, Polonia Madera was 66 years old and also lists some of the people with "Huizar" surnames right under her name. This is from Rancho De Los Maderas:

Please keep me updated on the Perez de Huizar line, I have been interested them for a while now. I have identified the oldest one I could find around 1675. His name was Miguel Perez de Huizar and his wife Leonor Gonzalez. They settled in Colotlan and their descendants spread around the valley in nearby settlements.

I also found a clue here that when Polonia Madera got married with Jose Justo De Huizar in 1784, it mentions that Pedro De Huizar and Maria Magdalena Navarette were already passed away:

I am interested in researching Pedro Huizar and Maria Magdalena Navarette since they were at Valparaiso at the time of Conde Don Fernando De La Campa Y Cos. See if there was any contact between them.
But the records on file at the family search website for the town of Valparaiso doesn't have any records in the 1700's to search for bautismos or matrimonio records.
But there is the posibility they had moved to Huejuquilla and could be have been recorded in the Defunto Records of Huejuquilla which do date back to the 1700's.
So I would have to look prior to 1784 for Pedro Huizar or Maria Magdalena Navarrette. I definetly would like to see who there parents are.
