I had subscription to Ancestry since 2009 and fairly happy with what they offer. Their prices have doubled since 2009 when it cost $100 dollars a year and now its $300.00 a year. They partnered with Fold3 and Newspapers.com, these two are added to your ancestry account as part of the package. I already have the two mentioned as separate accounts with those companies. I purchase the 6 month Ancestry plan for $149.00 which still gives me full access worldwide records and Mexico. Since Ancestry recently added millions of new records, I have found many new exciting records on my ancestors. I think it's worth it for me since I've had much success with records from Mexico. AND you are correct that people seem only interested is the Espanol or royalty lineage. I've had a belly full of them. I now have my tree locked and require they contact me if they are serious about exchanging information. They are more afraid to admit they have mulato or black lineage. I'm talking about my own raza, the Mexican. They have turned their backs on me since I discovered our lineage has mulatos and possibly a black slave.

What you say is so true. I found out that many folks are not interested in their genealogy, and they wonder why we want to go to court houses, libraries, cemeteries, etc.

I have received more help from several educated, articulate members here in Nuestros Ranchos that live in the area who have common ancestors than from any online websites. Those people are always willing to share their family trees. Those websites like Ancestry and even Family Search are more like repositories of documents. When those documents turn out hard to read, someone in NR is always willing to translate them for us.

Ancestry.com has different levels of subscriptions, the Basic, U.S. searches
only, World and another level. I found the difference the hard way, I was not
able to search my lineage in Mexico until I spoke with Ancestry and they
apprise me of the different levels and cost associated with each level. I
also considered getting an expert researcher and found that my pockets are
not that deep. I have been a World level client for about 6 years, even had
my DNA tested. The downside to DNA and matches is that most Matches are not
interested , unless your tree claims, pure Spanish heritage and royal
lineage. I made a trip to Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes and collected a
sizable amount of information which help me built my tree, however, not
everybody is interested in his her heritage. I have many living relative in
Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes and Zacatecas, support from them is either
none to NADA. Suggest get as much information from your living relatives,
purchase the next higher level ask for help, but you will find out, the
responsibility is all your. Good Luck.
