I don't descend from Jose Maria Covarrubias and Tecla Gomez, but some of their descendants are related to me through other lines. I don't know where they came from originally but have in my notes that I should check Zacatecas and the towns in Jalisco close to Zacatecas. They had many children. Here are a few: Prudencio, Josefa, Plutarca, Carlos, Fermin, and Maria Barbara Covarrubias Gomez.

There is a Jose Maria Covarrubias that married to a Gomez in 1827 in Guadalajara. Maybe Tecla was a middle name. Here is the info:

I recently began researching another family from Cañadas. I am looking for the ancestors of Jose Ynes Perez who inherited a ranch in Jalostotitlan. J. Ynes's brothers inherited other property between Cañadas and Jalostotitlan. Jose Ynes's father is Pablo Perez who was married three times. Jose Ynes was born between 1907 and 1909. I believe the third wife to be Maria Felix de Alva (Alba). Jose Ynes was the son of either the first or second wife.
