What is a good desktop computer for geneology research?

Hi people,
I have a refurbised dell desktop computer. I have had it. It is a piece of in colonial terms, "donkey poo."
What is a good desktop computer that is fast to use when you have several archives open? Does anyone know about alienware computers? Are those good and use alien technology?
I would recommend getting a computer with a lot of RAM. Any new computer will be fine. At minimum you want 8GB of RAM (random access memory) on your computer. If you have multiple pages open and viewing scanned documents, more RAM will improve the performance of your efforts. Otherwise, the computer will seem sluggish.

Just get a computer with more that 8GB of Ram, and i5 cpu or more, a solid state drive and and average graphics card.
