In search of any Jauregui descendants that  originated in Nochistlan then carried over to Mexticacan & Cañadas Jalisco.  Ancestor Nicolas de Jauregui, from Los Yugos Cañadas, born around 1790, is who we are researching.  Married 1st wife, Petra Gomez. 2nd wife, Juana Yniguez. Searching for  maternal & paternal records for Nicolas Jauregui as his mother was recorded as Juana de Jauregui. He must have taken his mother's surname.

Thank you! Can you please tell me where this record is and what year?  We only knew of Nicolas other 2 wives, not Tomasa. The only record we've seen for Nicolas's mother Juana, was that she was recorded as Juana de Jauregui. I assume she was not married by church to Encarnacion Yniguez, therefore Nicolas was not given his father's surname? There were so many Jauregui's in that area.

Nicolas was the legitimate son of J Encarnacion Yniguez and Maria de San Juana Jauregui and was born circa 1827 according to his marriage dispensation to Tomasa dated:

Nicolas Jauregui’ s wife, Tomasa Jauregui Gonzalez, descends from Juan  Francisco Xauregui and Josefa  Chavez Siorda.

The marriage dispensation that I attached states that they are related through the Jauregui so,yes, Nicolas most likely descends from that same couple. The record states that they are “ segundo con tercer grado” cousins. That means that it is most likely that Tomasa’s father is a sibling to a grandparent of Maria de los Santos Jauregui.   That would make Nicolas Jauregui also a descendant of Juan Francisco Xauregui and Josefa Chavez Siorda.
