Hi Raquel,
In checking the pedigree charts that you shared on NR, I believe that I have established a link with your ancestors Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides.
Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides are my husband Florentino (Tino) L Corbera's 9th Great Grandparents.
Tino's Maternal Line:
Mother Ma Refugia Perez-->Ma Andrea Aguirre Andrade-->Ma Senovia Aguirre-->Jose Timoteo Aguirre-->Joseph Leonicio Contreras Aguirre-->Ma Phelipa Gonzalez Contreras-->Melchora Losano Gonzalez-->Bernardo Gonzalez-->Luis Gonzalez Dominguez-->Ma Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides (9th GGParents)
Tino's Maternal Grandfather
Mother Ma Refugia Perez-->Jose Fernando Aguirre Perez-->Ma Aniseta Losano Aguirre-->Jose Miguel Aguirre-->Joseph Joaquin Aguirre-->Ma Phelipa Gonzalez Contreras-->Melchora Losano Gonzalez-->Bernardo Gonzalez-->Luis Gonzalez Dominguez-->Maria Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides (9th GGParents)
There's another line from Tino's Maternal Grandfather:
Mother Ma Refugia Perez -->Jose Fernando Aguirre Perez-->Jose Victoriano Rodriguez Perez-->Maria Ynes Rodriguez-->Ma Rosalia Sandoval-->Juan Manuel Sandoval--> Juana Josepha Gonzalez-->Joseph Gonzalez Losano-->Bernardo Gonzalez-->Luis Gonzalez Dominguez-->Ma Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanes del Monte y Geronima de Benavides (10thGGParents)
If I'm reading your chart correctly your ancestor is Lorenzo Yanez del Monte son of Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides. I have Lorenzo Yanez del Monte(Tino's 8th GreatGrandUncle) married to Maria Rodriguez de la Mora (she daughter of Juan Rodriguez de la Mora y Ysabel Delgadillo. Maria is an aunt by marriage, but most likely we may have another connection via the Mora and Delgadillo lines, I have not link those two lines as of yet).
Once we establish this is a correct linking I can then send you an ahnentafel chart.

Hi Pat,
In your message to Raquel you mentioned that there is a link between Gonzalo
Yáñez del Monte and Ma. Florencia Yáñez. Was she the daughter of Gonzalo
Yáñez and Gerónima de Benavides? Are there any records I could check online
for Ma. Florencia Yáñez?
Thanks,

Bill,
I only had my ancestors, Lorenzo de Yanez del Monte and his sister,
Jacinta de Benavides (or Olivo), listed as children of Gonzalo Yanez del
Monte and Geronima de Benavides, but many times I just haven't listed or
looked for siblings. I see on pg 545 of *Sagrada MItra...*, by Maria de la
Luz Montejano Hilton, entry 2720, dated 26 Sep, 1690 from Tepatitlan de
Morelos, that the gpts cited are Lorenzo Yanez and his sister, Florencia
Yanez. The connection is Lorenzo Yanez>Geromina de Benavides, wife of
SimonTorres>Lorenzo Torres (pretenso), and Florencia Yanez>Luis
Gonzalez>Maria Gonzalez (pretensa).

Pat,
It does look like your husband and I have multiple connections. I am
wondering about the Aguirre, Contreras, and Gonzalez line, also. We'll
have to explore these.

Hi Raquel,
That's great...!!
I'm looking forward to exploring multiple connections with you and other NR members.
I had second thoughts about doing the FamilyFinder (autosomal) testing, but the range relationship and suggested relationship results have lead to new found cousins that are members of NR...Saul Narvarro, Juan Carlos Aguayo Munos
and yourself...
Truly is a very small world...
The first of the new year I will post the names of the individuals that appear on Tino's FF (autosomal) test results, hoping that we find even more cousins on NR...

Pat,
So far I don't have a connection with Saul Navarro, that is not yet, but I do with Juan Carlos Aguayo Muños. Juan Carlos and I connect with at least 4 lines, Aguayo, Muños, Ruiz, Duran and maybe the Olmos line as well. What's Tino's connection to Juan Carlos Aguayo Muños??

Common Ancestor - Raquel Ruiz
Hi Raquel and Pat,
Thank you for the information you provided. It has been very helpful to me, but has also raised a very important question, which I'll try to explain in the following paragraphs.
When I added Ma. Florencia Yáñez to my database I could not confirm that Lorenzo de Torres and María González Rodríguez (pretensos) were "second cousins". There is a discrepancy between the dispensa and information included in "Genealogías de Nochistlán..." by José Luis Vázquez Rodríguez, which seems to indicate that Lorenzo de Torres was "second cousin once removed" of María González Rodríguez. The original dispensa is online at https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18427-12933-38?cc=1874591&wc… and the information extracted by María de la Luz Montejano on pg 545, entry 2720, of her book "Sagrada Mitra...". Both of them agree, but notice what María González stated in her declaration:
In chapters 27, 38, 66 and 70 of "Genealogías de Nochistlán..." José Luis Vázquez Rodríguez confirms that Lorenzo and Ma. Florencia Yáñez were brother and sister, the children of Gonzalo Yáñez del Monte and Gerónima de Benavides. According to information contained in chapter 66, there were two Luis González Domínguez, the elder identified as "el Viejo", and his son identified as "el Mozo". Luis González Domínguez "el Viejo" was the son of Bernardo González and Florencia Yáñez. He married Ana González de Hermosillo and had several children. Luis González Domínguez "el Mozo" married Ana Antonia Rodríguez de Hijar y Mesa. They were the parents of María González Rodríguez, pretensa.
So, here is the way I see it:
Lorenzo Yáñez married María Rodríguez de la Mora and had a daughter Gerónima de Benavides, named after her paternal grandmother. This second
Gerónima married Simón de Torres, and had a son Lorenzo de Torres, pretenso, who married María González Rodríguez, pretensa, on 26 Aug 1690 in Tepatitlán.
Ma. Florencia Yáñez married Bernardo González Domínguez (Genealogías de Nochistlán, Chapter 66, pgs 207-208). Bernardo and Florencia had a son Luis González Domínguez (el Viejo) who married Ana González de Hermosillo. Luis and Ana had a son also named Luis González Domínguez (el Mozo) who married Ana Antonia Rodríguez de Hijar y Mesa. They were the parents of María González Rodríguez (pretensa).
Based on the foregoing, it appears that Lorenzo Yáñez was the grandfather of Lorenzo de Torres (pretenso) and María Florencia Yáñez was the great-grandmother of María Gonzalez Rodríguez (pretensa). That makes Lorenzo de Torres "second cousin once removed" of María González Rodríguez.
Is it possible that María González didn't realize that her father and grandfather had identical names? She was only 18 years old and had already given birth to her first child when she declared that she "had heard from several people that she and Lorenzo had a blood relationship". I get the impression that she didn't know very much about her ancestors.
I hope someone in this forum can take a look at this and let me know if my interpretation is correct. Although I have found errors in "Genealogías de Nochistlán..." this doesn't seem to be the case. Let me know what you think.

Hi Raquel,
In checking the pedigree charts that you shared on NR, I believe that I
have established a link with your ancestors Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y
Geronima de Benavides.
Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides are my husband Florentino
(Tino) L Corbera's 9th Great Grandparents.
Tino's Maternal Line:
Mother Ma Refugia Perez-->Ma Andrea Aguirre Andrade-->Ma Senovia
Aguirre-->Jose Timoteo Aguirre-->Joseph Leonicio Contreras Aguirre-->Ma
Phelipa Gonzalez Contreras-->Melchora Losano Gonzalez-->Bernardo
Gonzalez-->Luis Gonzalez Dominguez-->Ma Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanez
del Monte y Geronima de Benavides (9th GGParents)
Tino's Maternal Grandfather
Mother Ma Refugia Perez-->Jose Fernando Aguirre Perez-->Ma Aniseta Losano
Aguirre-->Jose Miguel Aguirre-->Joseph Joaquin Aguirre-->Ma Phelipa
Gonzalez Contreras-->Melchora Losano Gonzalez-->Bernardo Gonzalez-->Luis
Gonzalez Dominguez-->Maria Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y
Geronima de Benavides (9th GGParents)
There's another line from Tino's Maternal Grandfather:
Mother Ma Refugia Perez -->Jose Fernando Aguirre Perez-->Jose Victoriano
Rodriguez Perez-->Maria Ynes Rodriguez-->Ma Rosalia Sandoval-->Juan
Manuel Sandoval--> Juana Josepha Gonzalez-->Joseph Gonzalez Losano-->Bernardo
Gonzalez-->Luis Gonzalez Dominguez-->Ma Florencia Yanez-->Gonzalo Yanes
del Monte y Geronima de Benavides (10thGGParents)
If I'm reading your chart correctly your ancestor is Lorenzo Yanez del
Monte son of Gonzalo Yanez del Monte y Geronima de Benavides. I have
Lorenzo Yanez del Monte(Tino's 8th GreatGrandUncle) married to Maria
Rodriguez de la Mora (she daughter of Juan Rodriguez de la Mora y Ysabel

those two lines as of yet).

Hello Bill,
Years ago Deena Ortiz sent a GEDCOM file to me containing all of Tino's Nochistlan ancestors...She had seen a posting that I had done online, and she apparently was researching the same individuals that I was inquiring about.
To answer your question yes, Ma. Florencia Yanez is the daughter of Gonzalo Yanez and Geronima de Benavides according to Deena's research.
I have no other documentation other than what was contained in the GEDCOM from Deena. In checking Deena's NR file I did not see a source noted...
There is a "Capitulo 27," in the Nochistlan book for Lorenzo Yanez y Maia Rodrigues de la Mora. Lorenzo Yanez del Monte married to Maria Rodriguez de la Mora, is the brother of Maria Florencia Yanez, it's possible that there would be more information on their parents Gonzalo Yanez de Monte and Geronima de Benavides. I do not have this book, only the listing of "capitulos."
