I have been studying the Macias Valades family, and have found this family which is causing some confusion.
Juan Valades (1st) m. Maria Rebollo (or Lopez Rebollo) and had at least two children:
--Juan Valades (2nd), no baptism found, but I estimate his birth as 1646/51, most likely in Aguascalientes
--Nicolas Valades, baptized 24 Jul 1652 in Aguascalientes
Juan Valades (2nd) married twice (1) Nicolasa de Castaneda, 23 Feb 1671, Aguascalientes and (2) Maria Romo de Vivar, 4 Feb 1690, in Aguascalientes.
By (1) Nicolasa, he had
--Juana Valades, buried 11 Jun 1743, in Aguascalientes, wife of Miguel Altuna
By (2) Maria, he had
--(i) Joseph Manuel Valades, bapt. 20 Apr 1694,
--(ii) Isidro Valades, bapt. 9 Jun 1700,
--(iii) Juan Valades (3rd), bapt. 16 Dec 1702, and
--(iv) Joseph Joaquin Valades, b. abt 1620, and who married Maria del Carmen Jimenez, 29 Dec 1744. All baptisms and marriages are in Aguascalientes.
(iv) Joseph Joaquin Valades and Maria del Carmen Jimeenez had a daughter, Maria Antonia Valades, who married Jose Antonio Zermeno on 13 Jul 1768, in Aguascalientes.
The baptismal and marriage records consistently use only the surname "Valades," but there are some posted genealogies that use the surname "Macias Valades," but provide no explanation. They also do not go further back than Juan (1st) Valades.
I cannot yet place Juan Valades (who m. Maria Rebollo) anywhere as a descendant of Blas Macias (or Macias Valades).
Can anyone offer any insight?

Valades or Macias Valades?
There is a marriage record of Maria Antonia Macias Valades and Jose Antonio Zermeño in Lagos de Moreno 13 June 1768 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18564-2478-50?cc=1874591&wc=…
Juan Valades and María Rebollo also had Andrea Valades
Andrea Valades married Felipe de Trillo and some of her children used the surname Macias Valades.
The death of her daughter Maria de Trillo has her mother as Andrea Macias Valades.
The records of información matrimonial for her children after 1700 also have her has Andrea Macias Valades.
A dispensa for her daughter Felipa de Trillo states that Andrea Valades was the granddaughter of an india. That means that the mother of Juan Valades was an indian because her maternal grandmother was María López de Fuenllana the daughter of Mateo González de Ruvalcaba y López de Fuenllana and Gerónima Velásquez de Morales. It also says that Felipe de Trillo passed as Spanish even though he was the son of an español and an india.
The dispensa is at https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18377-16873-14
There are two different dispensas that prove that Maria Rebollo was the daughter of Domingo Rebollo and María López de Fuenllana.

Valades or Macias Valades?
Armando
Thank you very much; this is quite helpful.
Is it reasonable to assume that a connection has not yet been found between this family and that of Blas Macias and Catalina Ramirez?

Valades or Macias Valades?
George, I haven't been able to find a connection. If a direct male descendant of Juan Valades were to get a 37 marker Y-DNA test we would be able to determine if he was a direct male descendant of Blas Macias since we already have one other person that descends from him that has had a Y-DNA 37 marker test.
