My Dearest Nuestro Ranchos Familia,
I am desperate for guidance; does anyone know about these families in
Mexico during the colonial times. They are in our family trees but I cannot
find anything out.
Juan Sanchez Banales married to Catalina De Alcaraz around 1600
Garcia Tagle early 1700's
Joseph Antonio Castellanos married to Mariana Mendoza around 1700.
I have finally reached my witts end. If you know anything please shoot my
way.
Ser Luz,
Elizabeth Acevedo

Sanchez Banales y Alcaras and Familia Tagle and Familia Castella
Elizabeth,
I have Sanchez-Banales in my archives, they are a family that appears to be in the Avalos-Guadalajara region during the XVII century. The oldest I have is about 1660, Don Alonso Sanchez Banales and his wife, Da. Margarita Ortiz de Zarate y Velasco--she was from Colima. They married in or nearby Sayula, where they established their family of numerous children. I descend from their daughter Micaela Sanchez Banales who had Francisca Xaviera Sanchez Banales--iligitimate child--her second great grandaughter married Lic. Luis de Hijar, the Magistrate of Guadalajara, my sixth great grandfather. I have only studied these lines a bit, but I could still do more research, from this line I know they are related to Enriquez Topete, the Sanchez de Aldana, Canedo and the Farchet.
Have you been able to locate Francisca Sanchez Banales? I still have her unlinked, she married into the Mayorazgo de Porres Baranda, this would be an important link to discover.
Could you share more on Juan Sanchez Banales and Catalina de Alcaraz? Their children and possibly how they are related to my Alonso Sanchez Banales? Perhaps a grandfather or great grandfather?
Daniel Mendez de Torres Camino
