I have several lines in Aguascalientes, some of them might be related to the same ones you are researching: Flores Alatorre, Guerrero, González de Hermosillo, Frausto, Durán, Macías Valadés. Send me what you have and I can look it up, I might just have some document that can help.

Hi Jenny

I have an Araujo on my family tree, from armadillo de los infantes SLP, living in the 1700s. Let me know if you wnat more info.

I had my brother take the Geno 2.0 because men receive both Y-DNA and MtDNA results
with one test.  Now with the reduced price it's an even better deal.
Since FTDNA conduct the testing for Nat Geo, yes, it is very simple to have the results transferred.

Subject: [Nuestros Ranchos] Geno 2.0 Sale

I just found out about this today and unfortunately the sale ends today.
The National Geographic Geno 2.0 test is on sale for $149.95

This test is great for men who want their Y-DNA SNPs tested. It is
especially good for men that belong to or potentially belong to haplogroup
R1b M269 because Geno 2.0 tests for SNP markers that FamilyTreeDNA doesn't
test for. Since the majority of Mexican and Iberian R1b belongs to M269 and
about 80% belong P312 and DF27 and below on the R1b phylogenetic tree this
test is highly recommended to discover if you are one of them, and if so,
where you belong on the tree.

The results can be transferred to FTDNA to be included in your profile and
in the projects that you join at FTDNA.

Saludos,
Armando

Jose,
I looked for both Fernando (1910) and Prodigios(1903) in the baptisms for Queréndaro and Zinapécuaro. I also looked in the civil birth registry for Zinapécuaro because at that time that is where Queréndaro registered their children. I did not find anything. Do you have any more info on Mercedes? Sometimes they would baptize children in the mother's home town especially if it was fairly close to where the family lived.

Jose,
I am researching one of my own lines about 40 minutes north of Queréndaro, Michoacan in Guanajuato. I am also helping someone research just east of Queréndaro, up in the mountains. It is a bueatiful area I used to live there. I could look around for you a little bit and send you the link if I find anything. Give me a couple days and I'll get back to you.

Hi all, I just joined yesterday, and am new to this site, and would like to make an introduction. My name is Francisco Escobar, I am currently researching the surname Escobar (Escovar) and Ramirez (Ramires). I have worked backwards from the state of Michoacan, and have been able to find my earliest Escobar line in State of Jalisco. Felipe Escobar Married and have two children that I have been able to identify: Bruno Escobar and Maria Paula Escobar Ramires. I only have particular data on Maria Paula.

By the late 1800's, my ancestors migrated to Guanajuato and Michoacan, and the USA, but I still have family in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and perhaps other lines (Aguacalients, Jalisco, etc.) that I am not yet aware of.

She was born on 24 January 1805, San Juanico, Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico. She was baptized on 3 February 1805, Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, México. I suspect that her older brother Bruno was born either in Atotonilco El Alto, Ayo El Chico, Arandas, or maybe San Diego de Alejandría, Jalisco. I also assume that their parents were married anywhere in the above locations. My 85 yr old father was very helpful and still is with family history. He claims that the Escobar's came from Spain in the late 1790's. so They could have been married in Jalisco, from 1790 to 1805. i estimated Bruno's birth from 1800 to 1802, but with out actual good data, I have to go until before Maria Paula's baptismal.

Any help, tips, would be appreciated. I have other surnames that are of interest to this group, since my ancestors appear to have lived early on in Aguacalientes, and Jalisco.

Surnames are: AGUILAR, ALVARES, ALVAREZ, ANGEL, ARRANAGA, ASCENCIO, ASENCIO, AYALA, CANO, ENRIQUES, ENRIQUEZ, ESCOBAR, ESCOVAR, ESTRADA, FIGUEROA, FLORES, FONSECA, FRANCO, GALLARDO, GAMINO, GARCIA, GARNICA, GONZALES, GUSMAN, GUZMAN, HERNANDES, HERNANDEZ, JUAREZ, LEON, LOPES, LOPEZ, LUQUE, MAGAÑA, MARTIN, MEDRANO, MELGOZA, MERCED, MORALES, NAVARRO, ORNELAS, OROSCO, OROZCO, ORTIZ, PERES, PEREZ, RAMIRES, RAMIREZ, RENTERIA, RIZO, ROCHIN, RODRIGUES, RODRIGUEZ, ROJO, ROMERO, SALAZAR, SANCHES, SANCHEZ, SARATE, TABARES, TELLO, THELLO, TRILLO, TRIYO, TULE, VILLASEÑOR, ZARATE

As a payback to the good people who were pioneers at the mormon site, i took it upon myself when doing research, to enter ANY familiar ancestral surnames that I come across. My philosophy is that "they may" be related to my line somehow, if not, it would help others.

Thank you, and I do hope to be of some assistance to this group.

I have it a brick wall with ESCOBAR, RAMIREZ, ROMERO, MEDRANO and ZARATE to name a few.

Hi. I m a mexican born in Tamaulipas researching for my mother s backgroung in Jalisco. Leal and Huerta are mostly my activity now. Nice to meet you and espero encontrar familia o por lo menos personas que hablen en español.

Hello Brandye,

I have a huge ancestry report ready for you. It is too long to post here. Email me or put your email address in a document in your folder. The messaging through the website does not always work.

Armando

I found the book to be very useful and worth the $70 that I paid for it in 2008. I still look up things in the book from time to time. If you are interested in a particular area, email me directly. I may or may not be able to send you scanned pages, depending on the volume of material requested.

It's at the Downtown LA Library and at UCLA.

If you go to a manuscript publisher, you might get it for a cheaper
price.

Spain"

The book "The North Frontier of New Spain" has caught my attention of
late. I have heard good things about it, but seeing the price tag ($90,
used hardcover) makes me consider whether to purchase or to read within
a local library. Before making my decision, I need to know exactly what
type of information is in the book. I especially need to know the level
of detail with which the southeast outskirts of Nueva Galicia are
covered. Suggestions on buying or reading are also appreciated.

Subject: [Nuestros Ranchos] DNAgedcom Files Help

Hi,
I need to download a Chromosome Browser file from http://www.dnagedcom.com/ through the Family Tree DNA link, for the Nueva Galicia DNA project, which I did.

However, when I open it, there's nothing there except some headers.  I thought there would be other info.
What should I be seeing, and what am I doing wrong?  FYI, I use Firefox on a MacBook Pro.

Thanks, Laura Gonzalez

Subject: [Nuestros Ranchos] Introduction of Mia

Hello All - my name is Mia Montemayor and I've only been doing research for a few weeks now. Using family search, I was able to locate several records of my ancestors, including my great great grandparents Jose Aurelio Ponce born in Aguascalientes on March 26th 1886 and Valentina Ramirez born May 21st 1880. Jose Aurelio Ponce's parents were Francisco Ponce and Maria del Refugio Lopez from Aguascalientes. And, Francisco's parents were Nazario Ponce and Paula Castañeda. I recently located the birth of Nazario Ponce, so, I know his paternal grandparents are Gregorio Ponce and Gertrude Rangel and his maternal grandparents are Nepoceno Munoz and Guadalupe Diaz and I was hoping to find out as much as I can about those two couples. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the group.
