Thanks Omar for this report. I also noticed the overlapping and wondered
if it was the same material repeated on the various films or if it was
different areas and or individuals for those overlapping years. Is that
what you mean by "At least the documents for individual priests are
filmed together" that it does cover different areas and individuals for
the years that overlap?

If you were looking for a certain priest and let me just say that he
starts showing up in the records around 1862 (see one example here:
http://h2opodcast.com/nr/CiprianoPuente.jpg). What would you do to find
his records? Would you start at that year and work back? Seems like he
might have been a priest in another parish before so maybe his records
start many years before that. I wonder how you'd go about finding info
on the priest without ordering 20-30 years worth of films?

I am also very interested what is on these films. They could serve a very valuable purpose for the ancestry charts. I was wondering if anybody has any Camarena lines that go back to Ayotlan, Jalisco. I have a line that ends with Catalina Camarena born in Valencia, Spain who married Francisco Bufreo.

If this is true, then many mysteries regarding alteno genealogy wouldbe solved we should look into it. Its hard on some of them since somefilms overlap in years. As we know many important figures in Los Altosbecame priest, bishops, archbishops, deacons etc.

I am related to the second Priest of Calvillo, Ags. Jose del Valle he is my direct ancestor, eventhough men in the order are not supposed to have kids at least inthat time, it didnt stop them from having illigitimate kids.

I have several priest friends here in Monterrey , Mexico and they all know about my genealogy madness and as a matter of fact several have made comments that they would like to do thier genealogy .
