In the past I had wondered about education in colonial Mexico.

I was looking through the PARS website for Testamentos (filtered for archivos de indias) and browsing each one to see if I can find any for for our region (Jalisco,Zacatecas, Aguascalientes) in Mexico.

Just out of curiosity, I ran across one that mentiones "Universidad de Mexico:
