This is a late reply to Randy McNeal's message. I too just received a partial results on my Y-DNA testing. I too am surprised at
the conclusions of the test results. Most of my genelogical surnames go back to Northern Spain for about 500 years. The DNA
tests list a whole lot of surnames for Scottish, Irish, English. There are some Dutch, Czech, Polish, Hungarian, Finnish, Icelandic
surnames linked as well. Looking at the geographic migratory history of humans provided in the report provides some understanding
as to how and why there can be a difference. The Northern European surnames are much older than my Hispanic names. Changing of
names, missing genealogical records, clerical errors, the Inquisition, wars, famines, invasions may have played a role in the differences between the DNA records and genealogical records. Just when I thought the puzzle pieces were coming together.
By the way Mr. McNeal, I have a "Neal" in my haplogroup, my wife's maiden name is O'Neal. When you get back to the creation period we really are all related.
I am purchasing a book on understanding your DNA results. It is definitely needed by me.

I just submitted my DNA test through ancestry.com
I know many haven't been happy with the results from ancestry but from the comments I've read it seems that the reasons people are unhappy is due to not researching how people migrated to different parts of the world. For instance many complain that their ancestors were from England but the test results show more Norwegian ancestry and they claim no family from that area. What they don't know is there were many Scandinavian invasions of what is now Great Britain in the 700's so many in Great Britain have this DNA.
Anyway my too long of point is I don't think it matters where you go you just need to be aware that what comes back may look surprising so you may need to do some additional research to make sense of it.

Hi, I've read the film entry of Prudencio Marin de Errera where he married
Nicolaza Paula San Martin Estrada where he married in 1757
It says "no resulto impedimento alguno" and does not mention that he was a
"viudo".
Also, it says he was vecino del rancho de "Ojo dela rana"
It appears he might have been born about 1744
She was from the _________ dela Ena?
His father was Luis Marin Herrera and mother Maria Roza Serrano (both
deceased by 1757)
Her father was Gregorio San Martin Estrada and Maria Elena Magallanas
I am trying to figure out where they all were born??? Although both
Prudencio and Nicolaza are listed as "Espanoles", I truly doubt they were born in
Spain....
The reason I think that Prudencio might have been married several times is
that in batch number C607125, film number 443811 - a grandaughter born in 1817
(Maria Felipa de los Dolores) was born to PRUDENCIO HERRERA and MANUELA
ESTRADA and RODUCINDO DE ROBLES and PAULINA CABALLERO - the father was LUIS
HERRERA and RUFINA ROBLES. Additionally, there was another granchild born in 1825
with the same data: Jose Andres Herrera Robles - same parents.
But then in 1829, once again a grandchild was born Jose Francisco Herrera
Robles to Luis Herrera, and it states that the grandparents were Prudencio
Herrera and Paula Estrada.
Luis Herrera (son of Prudencio) was a widower when he married Rufina de
Robles.

I sent an e-mail to Benicio Samuel Sanchez Garcia regarding what was
said. He is interested and would like specifics. When he asks he usually
does something about it. He is in a position to do. The email below is
what I had sent him. I guess no one contacted him from this group. Please
send me (or him if you prefer, mentioning this e-mail) of the documents or
books that need to be filmed, loose pages, where they are, who is in charge
at the locale, phone numbers or address if you have it, and contact person.
Please send me as much information as you have on hand about the unfilmed
documents or books.
I believe he was expecting me to send the information needed. I sent him
pat o the info as a heads up but not all the e-mails from the group
discussing the need to film some more documents.
Can you all do this ASAP? I would like to take advantage of this since
I believe Mr. Sanchez is in a position to help us and has expressed an
interest. He mentions the book found in Santiago, Nuevo Leon. I am assuming
that that his outfit is gettiing ready to microfil again. Let's take
advantage of that; who knows, we might find some more family!

Through his information Pedro Ramirez Lopez married Maria Gonzalez Lopez and had many children in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Baja Ca. as well as in Los Angeles.

there was a book in our links section that had a graf showing the tribes and which of the 4 Native American Haplogroups their women had. I think it was called something abt the Red Road? I tried getting into it and the link sent me somewhere else.. Can anyone tell me how to access this book again..

I was chatting with someone who is from Hacienda San Mateo of Valparaiso, Zacatecas, Mexico and knows a lot of the history of "Conde Don Fernando De La Campa Y Cos"
We were talking about the Astillero. I told him my family was at "Rancho De Los Maderas" of Huejuquilla El Alto during Colonial Mexico.
He mentioned to me in spanish:
"Lo que ustedes representaron fue la clase de los rancheros.
La primera merced de tierras que les dieron a los Madera fue en el rancho de Palmitos en 1697-98.
La merced se les ratificó en 1758."
I am not familiar with Rancho de Palmitos (I might have come across that name when I browsed through archives).
But there are three Rancho Maderas near Huejuquilla El Alto. And when I was research my family tree, found that my Paternal great great great grandfather Juan Venancio Madera, "Espanol" was born in Rancho De Los Maderas (Rincon De Los Maderas) aproximelty in the 1760's since I can't remember the exact date.
My Great Grandfather is name Calixto Madera who is the son of Patricio Madera and Maria Dimas De La Paz. Aproximate birth is 1856 in Rancho Jimulco? of Huejuquilla, Jalisco, Mexico.
I found a Census (Padrones) of Huejuquilla, Jalisco, Mexico and all the surrounding ranchos of the year 1828 - 1830. I browsed the census searching for a Patricio Madera and found one in Rancho Ximulco:

On Census of 1830 he is a Rancho Ximulco, 39 years old, married to Tomasa Munoz 36 years old. That would mean when Patricio had my great granfather Calixto Madera with Maria Dimas De La Paz around the year 1856, Patricio was 65 years old?
Using the age of Patricio of 39 years old in the 1830 Census of Rancho Ximulco of Huejuquilla. I checked the Bautismo records and found Patricio Madera registered as:

I have gone to the LDS family history center and scrolled through the microfilm of Padrones 1828 of the village of Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico and all the surrounding Ranchos (So many of them) and nearby Hacienda San Antonio De Padua, Tenzompa, San Nicolas.
I already have done my family research back in the 1990's, wrote down dates, families, locations in my notebook which I still have. Also made copies back then. But I threw those copies away, but I still have my notebooks.
I re-ordered a microfilm that I specifically want to see a Census of a Rancho where my Madera Family is at and made copies just recently and will explain who is on it. There are a lot of Ranchos and also the census of Huejuquilla. I did not have the time to make copies of all of them as also there was someone using the only Digital Copier. So I managed to make copies of Rancho De Los Maderas.

In that first page, "Marcelo Madera" is the grandfather of Maria Clemencia Madera who is the wife of my great great grandfather Calixto Madera (Rancho Jimulco) and the father of Benito Madera - (Benito Madera is the father of Maria Clemencia Madera)
From my notebook - Marcelo Madera was baptized in 1780 by his parents Lasaro Madera and Micaela Perales. Residence is Rancho (Rincon De Los Maderas. Married Juana Ramirez
Benito Madera - was baptized by his Father Marcelo Madera and mother Juana Ramirez in 1836. Residence Rancho De Los Maderas. Benito Madera was married to Maria Estanislao Munoz
Maria Clemencia Madera is the daughter of Benito Madera/Maria Estanisloa Munoz - Residence Rancho (Rincon De Los Maderas.
Calixto Madera (residence Rancho Jimulco) is the husband of Maria Clemencia Madera and parents of Antonio Madera Madera.

Hola que tal estoy buscando informacion respecto al fallecimiento (o cualquier otro dato) de Miguel Villalobos Velazquez de Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco. Existe un acta de nacimiento que establece que nació el 14 de mayo de 1870 y que sus padres eran Bernardo Villalobos y Ygniacia Velazquez. El único dato que tengo por el momento es uno que proviene de un acta de nacimiento de un nieto de él de nombre Rafael Villalobos Rodriguez nacido en Tizayuca, Hidalgo el 3 de abril de 1909, (quien viene a ser mi bisabuelo) donde menciona que su padre Miguel Villalobos Rodriguez ya habia fallecido. Este dato quiere decir que tuvo que haber fallecido dentro de los nueve meses de embarazo de su esposa si no, no creo que se asentaría en el acta de nacimiento que era hijo natural de aquél. En cualquier caso, estoy buscando cualquier informacion respecto a este personaje (Miguel Villalobos Velazquez)y creo que pudo haber fallecido en Lagos, pero no estoy muy seguro. Gracias por su ayuda.
Twins baptised with the same name is the topic of my previous post with the name Maria Francisca del Rosario, not those two specific girl twins. Just wanted to make that clear...

I am going through baptisms for Aguascalientes in the late 1700's for espanoles. I came across something odd - baptism of twin girls (last name Guerrero) who are given the exact same name. Plus, in the entry immediately preceding, yet another girl (Gonzales) with the same given name:
Maria Francisca del Rosario.
That's three girls, same given names, same date of baptism (6 oct. 1795), all espanol. Here's the link:

These have nothing to do with my research,but if both twin girls survived into adulthood and had children, it must have been confusing for them! And from our perspective, it might look like one Maria who had two husbands...

Andres Fonseca and Petra Rodrigues had several children born in San Diego De Alejandria between 1819 and 1831 and maybe earlier although those records are missing. Andres' parents were Rafael Fonseca and Maria Antonia Santos. Does anyone know the probable travel route or city of origin of early San Diego De Alejandria families? Thanks. I found a baptism record for my 6th great grandfather, Joseph Feliz Almaguer born 11 Dec 1711 in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, but can't make heads or tails of the writing. If anyone would be willing to take a stab at it and let me know what they think I would really appreciate it. It is the first record on the upper left hand side of the page. The link is below.
