I am looking for Antonio Manual Rivas born about 1725 in San Pedro de Gallo, Zacatecas.
I can't find any film for the town at that time period. I have been looking for information on the town to see
when it was first settled . He might have been baptized in a near by town but can't make up my mind
as what other town seems most likely.
Antonio moved to Galeana, Nuevo Leon and married about 1753 to Maria Guadalupe Pinto y Galvez.
The Pinto family was from Charcas, san Luis Potisi.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Is this your same Antonio de Riva(s)?

It appears that San Pedro de Gallo was part of the bishphoric of
Durango during this time. It looks to have been more a predisio than
an actual town in the early 1700s... It appears to have been part of
the partido de Nazas, previously known as Cinco Senores. The town did
not have a church until 1787, so there would be no parrish in which to
record his baptism in the town in 1721.

Rivas in San Pedro de Gallo
Even Cinco Senores/Nazas has no baptisms before 1726. There are death
records for earlier years which means that the archives were destroyed
or perhaps (if you are lucky) not available for filming when LDS went
to film. It is worth investigating with the parrish in Nazas.

Rivas in San Pedro de Gallo
Arturo,
Thanks so very much, I have been blocked on this line for so long. I am not sure that Antonio was a captain but that seems logical if he was living in a presidio. I did see a rank attached to him in Galeana. The information I had was from his marriage record. His parents were not listed on the marriage record. This was his wife's second marriage and this record listed the parents of his wife's first husband's parents instead. It also listed his wife's parents.
Where did you find the attached record? I have too look for protocols in Galeana, Nuevo Leon which is were he died. He started having children in 1755 so I guestimated he was born about 1720 or so. His wife was born in 1728 in Charcas, SLP. They married in Galeana.
Thanks again.
