Hi Early Aguascalientes Researchers:
I'm trying to unravel a mystery. I'm looking for the ancestors of Antonio Garcia who married Francisca Xavier de Cordoba on Aug. 30, 1730 in Cienega de Mata, Ojuelos. His parents: Christoval Garcia and Getrudis Delgado.
As you know Delgado and Garcia are early Spanish families in Aguascalientes, but I'm not certain of my connections. Bernardo Antonio Garcia was baptized June 29, 1707 in El Sagrario, Aguas (Film 299424), son of Christoval and Getrudis. I have baptism of some of his siblings too. He was Español.
Question is: Does anyone have the marriage of his parents?? The marriage film for this period is extremely bad and dark and barely readable. I'm looking for the marriage of Christobal Garcia and Gertrudis Delgado, circa 1704 to 1707. I am trying to determine their baptisms and parentage.
I believe Christoval was baptized Aug. 5, 1861 in Sagrario (Film 299422), son of Juan Garcia and Juana de Ulloa- He is Español. I found this baptism today. BUT, a Christoval Garcia was also allegedly baptized Jan. 9, 1688 in Aguas. He has different parents.
Getrudis Delgado Lopez was baptized Oct. 22, 1868 in Sagrario (Film 299422), daughter of Juan Delgado and Margarita Lopez. She is Española. But another Gertruds was born in 1679, daughter of Diego Delgado and Nicolasa Lopes.
Juan Delgado was baptized Aug. 1, 1647 (Sagrario, Film 299421) as son of Joseph Delgado and Francesca Garrai (aka Gabai y Tiscareno). And this couple, Jose Delgado and Francesca Tiscareno were married Aug. 30, 1644, and the rest his history, the famous Ruiz de Esparza line, the alleged Moctezuma/Cortez connection, and the pioneer Delgado line.
Does anyone have any links that I don't have. Does anyone know about the marriage of Christoval and Gertrudis? Thanks.

Thanks,

JOHNNYPJ,
AH, AT LAST, I MIGHT, MIGHT BE ON A HOT TRAIL! I , TOO, AM LOOKING FOR DELGADOS, HOWEVER, IN ZACATECAS, BUT WHO KNOWS, NUEVA GALICIA INCLUDED SEVERAL STATES AS WE KNOW THEM NOW.
AND, YES, I UNDERSTAND THAT THE DELGADOS WERE EARLY SETTLERS IN NUEVA GALICIA. SOMEONE GAVE ME A JUAN DELGADO, WITH A VERY EARLY AGE, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LINK HIM WITH MY DELGADOS.
THE EARLIEST DATE I HAVE FOR ANY OF THEM IS 1701, WHEN BARTOLOME DELGADO MARTIN AND FRANCISCA MELCALIN Y CHAVARRIA MARRIED, ONLY ASSUMING IN SAN MATIAS,PINOS, ZAC. BARTOLOME'S PARENTS WERE FRANCISCO DELGADO AND PETRA MARTIN CHAVEZ, NO DATES FOR ANYTHING AT ALL.
BARTOLOME AND FRANCISCA HAD A SON, JUAN MANUEL DELGADO, WHO WAS BORN SHORTLY AFTR 1701. HE MARRIED MARIA MATIANA CONTRERAS RODRIGUEZ IN 1728, IN SAN MATIAS, PINOS, ZAC.
THE NEXT GENERATION IS FOUND IN REVILLA, TAMAULIPAS. WHERE JUAN JOSE DELGADO CONTRERAS IS BORN AROUND 1731, AND IS MARRIED TO 1. JOSEFA LEONARDA JUAREZ, IN 1761, IN REVILLA, AND 1. MARIA MARGARITA SANCHEZ DIAZ, IN 1775, IN REVILLA.
I BELIEVE I FOUND A DIEGO DELGADO IN FAMILYSEARCH AND I THOUGHT HE MIGHT BE A BROTHER TO EITHER FRANCISCO OR BARTOLOME.
I SURE HOPE WE CAN CONNECT! I HAVE THE EARLY JUAN DELGADO INFORMATION SOMEWHERE AND I WILL FORWARD IT TO YOU.
THANKS! JUANITA G.DELGADO

Garcia and Delgado in Old Aguascalientes
Hello JohnnyPJ,
When I interred the names I was connected to I must have spelled the name
wrong. I have connections with Dilgadillo. Susano Martinez who was my
Husbands Great Grand Father married Maria Ynes Dilgadillo.
They were married in Nochistlan, Zacatecas, Mexico on Nov 29 1854. If this
is someone you are interest in I will send you all I have on the Dilgadillo
family. Susano Martinez was like the Governor or man in control of the
Rancho Lo de Carrera, Zacatecas, Mexico. Ynes was the first of 6 of his
wives. I know they had children I just don't have a list of them right now.
I'm working on that.
Thank you for writing, I wish I could help you more.

Garcia and Delgado in Old Aguascalientes
John,
You probably know that on 4 March 1669 two brothers, Luis and Juan Delgado Tiscareño, married two sisters, Theresa and Margarita López de Elizalde (Film 299823). Luis and Juan were sons of Joseph Delgado and Francisca Tiscareño (aka Francisca Gabaii, Francisca Gabay, Francisca Gabadi). Theresa and Margarita were daughters of Nicolás López de Elizalde and Regina de Alvarado. Then on April 13, 1678 a third sister Nicolasa López de Elizalde married a Diego Delgado. Was he a son of Joseph Delgado and Francisca Tiscareño? Probably so. Although I cannot confirm it, I believe she married Diego Delgado Tiscareño (baptized on Feb 27, 1659) a brother of Luis and Juan Delgado Tiscareño. Three brothers marrying three sisters. Careful here!! Joseph Delgado and Francisca Tiscareño named two of their sons Diego, the first one baptized Feb 9, 1646 who probably died young, and the second baptized Feb 27, 1659.
In summary:
Luis Delgado Tiscareño married Theresa López de Elizalde on March 4, 1669.
Juan Delgado Tiscareño married Margarita López de Elizalde on March 4, 1669.
Diego Delgado [Tiscareño?] married Nicolasa López de Elizalde on April 13, 1678.
Luis, Juan and possibly Diego were sons of Joseph Delgado and Francisca de Tiscareño (aka Francisca Gabai) and Theresa, Margarita and Nicolasa were daughters of Nicolás López de Elizalde and Regina de Alvarado (this has been verified).
Later, Diego and Nicolasa had a daughter Gertrudis born in 1679, and Juan and Margarita had a daughter Gertrudis born in 1686. One of these girls married Christobal García c. 1700. Regardless of which one, their ancestors are the same.
Hope this helps.

Diego Delgado and Juana Dias
Dose anyone have information on Diego Delgado and Juana Dias, the parents of Joseph Delgado who married Francisca Tiscareno Gabai (or Gabadi) in 1644?
Thanks for the help!

Diego Delgado and Juana Dias
Hi George,
Have you had any luck with this? There is a private family tree that comes up in my searches on Ancestry.com. I have sent an e-mail to that person, but haven't received a reply. Aside from that my searches come up empty.
Thanks,
Brandye
