Thank you for any help.

Genaro Martinez
Did he enter the United States at one time? I could look for the Social Security Records?

Genaro Martinez
I really don't know. All I know is that I have a photograph signed by him to his father, Aurelio. It was signed in 1912. My relative Aurelio Martinez, I know left with a new wife in 1918 to New Mexico. I never heard any stories that he followed his father. I did hear though that he was a concert pianist. I really am lost in how to find what happened to him.

Genaro Martinez
Thank you Daniel, but I do not believe that would be my Genaro because Aurelio was born in 1870, he would have been 12 when Genaro was born.
But thank you anyways, I appreciate it.

Sofia:
You state that Aurelio was born in 1870. What is the source of that birth date?
One thing to remember is that many documents that list people's dates of birth are based on the subject's declarations and people often (due to social reasons or poor memory) misstated their dates of birth.
I have seen marriage documents where people stated that they were 10 or 12 years younger than their baptism record indicates. I think that baptism documents are really the only reliably source for birth dates prior to about 1880 or 1890 in Mexico. Even civil registries are not reliable as parents were fined for not registering children within a specified time period and so when parents had to postpone registration because of inconvenience or lack of funds to do so, they would inevitably lie about the child's birth date to avoid the fines.
Moral here is that it may actually be your Aurelio and the Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the social security record is not very cumbersome or expensive, though it does take a while to get the document.

Arturo,
I actually have a typed document from 1942 stating when Aurelio was born and when, parents, grandparents and the name of the priest that baptised him in San Jose, Ojuelos. Its stamped as an official document. Also the dates go with the other papers I have in my hands, like Aurelio's parent and brothers. And the photograph I have of Genaro from 1912, he looks like a young man of 20 more or less. This is the other reason why I don't think he is the Genaro that Daniel found.
I know its like finding a needle in a hay stack and sometimes I think the only way I'll find something out is going in person to Jalisco. The other solution is asking for the films I believe he could be in and go threw all of them.
