Ah Stuart,
I like your analogies. Apparently, there are other distant cousins who are
also into genealogy with my family lines. At first I was impressed with the
"supposed" association of alleged royalty.....
But it takes one wise elder to put things in perspective. When asked her
why this was never shared with the rest of us: she responded rather strongly:
IT IS NOT WHO WE ARE TODAY.
Could she have been saying that this was not proven....could she have been
looking in the mirror and said there are other "truths", could she have harsh
memories of her own upbringing....no doubt....and some "truths" don't matter
in one's current reality.

Hello Stuart:
Your conclusions are very interesting. I agree with you, it doesn't matter who our ansestors were. They were human beings like us and they took advantage or wasted the oportunities they had in their times.
We are related with them no matter what and searching for them take us to know the history not only of their lives, but the towns, the cities and the countries were they lived in. That is what make genealogy so interesting and enable us to pass on a profound and wonderful family history to our descendants .
And talking about genealogy I would like to share with you and all our friends in Nuestros Ranchos, our experiences during our 8th trip to Germany and Poland in search of my husbands roots.
