Hello,
I have uploaded a pdf of a map, "Plano de todos los curatos de Nueva Galicia, 1780" by Domingo Anastasio de Ponce, that includes the boundaries of the parishes of Nueva Galicia. I scanned it in from the book "Cartografía histórica de la Nueva Galicia."
You can find it here: http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/19218
Although it's difficult to identify some locations, and some of them seem geographically incorrect, i hope it's useful.

Thank you for finding this!
With the information you provided, I looked for the image on PARES, and was able to find it.
The colors of the PARES image are not as nice as those in the book you located, but the scan provides more detail. Also, the file is not real large (only about 800 Kb). You can enlarge it significantly without much loss of detail.
To get the image from PARES go to http://pares.mcu.es/ParesBusquedas/servlets/Control_servlet?accion=100
In the box at the top of the search field labeled Buscar, enter the phrase "curatos de Nueva Galicia", but without the quote marks. Click on Buscar at the bottom of the page.
On the next page, under Archivo de Indias click on Mapas y Planos. On the next page, click on the text that begins with "Plano que", and on the next page, click on the box with the text "Ver imagenes" near the top. The image will then open in the next page.
Click on the large image to further enlarge it. Right click on the enlarged image will allow you to save it.

A note ...
After I downloaded the map, I went back to the PARES iamge.
There are some control buttons on the left side of the image. I clicked the one that looks like a circle that is half white and half colored. The map then changed to normal colors. I could then download it in color!

updated JPG of map
Thanks to information that George provided, I put the more-detailed map from PARES here:
http://www.nuestrosranchos.org/node/19221
Note that I deleted the previous files.
I found that if you create a PDF of the JPG, the image is more detailed when you zoom in than with the original JPG. However, the PDF version wouldn't upload when I tried loading to the above folder, perhaps because it was 7MB?

George,
Thank you for this useful information. It seems that the PARES web site is
getting easier to use than in the past. This is good.
