"Valle de Guafucar partida de Mectabasco" is the same as Huejucar, Calvillo or is this a separate town in Zacatecas???? Thank you for any information.
Yes Huejucar and Guejucar is the same place. It is a valley where Calvillo, Ojocaliente and Huanusco make up. This is an area of expertise for me. My mother's family was primarily from Calvillo (Huejucar), Aguascalientes and Mexico City.
Hello,
I know this is an old thread, but I'm hoping you'll receive notification of this post. I'm interested in learning more about Calvillo and the Valley of Huejucar.
We have ancestry, circa 1730-1800's, from St Nicholás, La Barranca, Ojocaliente and Calvillo.
Surnames: Rodrígues, Macías-Balades, Ximénes, Peres and others.
Most of the older Parish record entries for this area are included with Tabasco, Zacatecas (Villa del Refugio), but I cannot find much for Calvillo in Zacatecas records prior to the 1740s. Would very early baptisms and marriages from Calvillo be included elsewhere?
Did most of the early Spanish settlers to Calvillo predominately come from a specific area of Mexico?
Thank you.
Travis
