Hello Everyone, I've been doing my research on my grandfather's Valdez, (Valdes) line. He was born in La Estancia, Tepetongo, but his line comes from Jerez (Los Cuervos). I've been able to go back to my 4X gr grandfather and there the records have a very large gap. From 1835 to beyond 1849 no records exist on Family Search. I was wondering if anyone has been successful finding records for this period. Perhaps I've missed something.

Thanks for any help anyone can give. It's particularly frustrating, because I think I know who my 5X gr grandfather is but need some records to confirm.

can you share names or dates.. I also do research in Jerez but many families are from Tepetongo or go back an forth from Jerez to Tepetongo.

Hello Linda,

I am primarily in the early to mid 1800's right now. I have some late 1700's also. As I stated my maternal grandfather was a Valdes/Berumen. But they primarily married, de la Torre's, Carlos, and Gonzales. If I can help you with any of these names, please let me know.

I am currently in Zac, Zac, it's an amazingly beautiful city. My cousin's son is graduating tomorrow from Universidad Autonima de Zacatcas. Since he's lived here for 4 years, he knows all the ins and outs and all the best eateries. I've taken lots of pictures and will find a way to share them.
